After Lipscomb Academy's 24-17 over Brentwood Academy this past Friday night, it's time to highlight the top standouts on both sides of the ball from the Mustangs' hard-fought victory over the Eagles. Here's my list of some guys from both squads that made their presence known on the field and established themselves as high-level playmakers.

At the top of my list of notable performers is [player_tooltip player_id='219419' first='George' last='MacIntyre'], a 6-foot-5, 190-pound quarterback at Brentwood Academy. What impresses me about MacIntyre is his ability to boost production on the ground and in the air. MacIntyre showcased his ability to withstand heavy pressure and escape the defense from along the edge as well as hit his receivers in stride from anywhere on the field, forcing the Eagles into the endzone twice this past Friday. Another aspect of MacIntyre that stood out was his persisent playstyle and ability to adapt in crucial game scenarios.

I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='150276' first='Edwin' last='Spillman'], a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker at Lipscomb Academy. On top of excellent size and speed, what stood out about Spillman was his explosiveness and ability to stun the offense with his electric quickness off the snap. Spillman also made a huge impact in the pocket, using his strength to shut down the rush and keep the offense behind the line of scrimmage. I also liked how Spillman attacked the quarterback, using his solid footwork and versatility to apply pressure.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='149389' first='Kaleb' last='Beasley'], a 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back at Lipscomb Academy. Beasley showcased his skillset on both sides of the ball, hauling in a deep pass in the backfield with seconds left in the first half to allow the Mustangs to kick a field goal. Beasley was also a gamechanger defensively, locking down receivers in the backfield. What impressed me the most about Beasley's playstyle was his breakaway speed and ability to disrupt the deep pass with his physicality in coverage.

Another skilled prospect to keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='480646' first='Jackson' last='Kilburg'], a 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback at Lipscomb Academy. Kilburg was an efficient prospect at the helm of the Mustangs' offense, catching my eye with his arm strength and pin-point accuracy in the air. Kilburg made a number of significant throws throughout the contest, proving his ability to adapt to defensive pressure and make challenging throws in third-down scenarios. Kilburg's composure and ability to follow through on his passes also made him an impactful standout offensively.

Coming in at number five on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='149181' first='Andrew' last='Pedersen'], a 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman at Brentwood Academy. Pedersen's size, strength and durable edge made him a formidable opponent on the Eagles' offensive line, proving he can both absorb and push back against defensive pressure and buy his quarterback more time to make plays. I also liked how Pedersen used his arms to push the defense back behind the line of scrimmage and open up running room for his team.
