Homestead Is Back

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When the latest <strong><em>Prep Redzone Florida</em></strong> state football rankings came out, there was a program that continues to show that 2022 was certainly no fluke.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After a first ever state football appearance, the Homestead Broncos came back this spring and made a commitment that the one year – a 3M finals loss to national powerhouse Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas – would not be the last of the Broncos.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even with the loss of some key seniors and a head coach, this program remained optimistic that they would very much be in the mix once again.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As head coach <strong>Ronnie Thornton</strong> and his staff remained together, there was reason to believe that this program would once again be back in the mix.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While most across the state looked at St. Thomas Aquinas, Orlando Edgewater and several other 3M programs, Homestead was once again put on the back burner.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An early season 13-12 loss to 4M Miami Palmetto was something that became a reason to feel that this team didn't have enough to make another run. Wrong!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After last Saturday's convincing 32-16 win over 4M favorite and defending state champion Miami Christopher Columbus, the focus now shifted back this program.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even in a season that saw this team have two games called off, the optimism still remains.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!--
