Gonzaga Defeats FCA: Impact Players

Heading into one of Gonzaga's premier WCAC matchups this week versus DeMatha, let's highlight the standout performers from the Eagles' most recent victory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2024 6'1 200 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='264054' first='Aidan' last='Conrath'] - Gonzaga</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gonzaga quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='264054' first='Aidan' last='Conrath'] did not skip a beat against FCA, and he ended the game with an extremely efficient 107.2 overall QBR. He completed 20/31 passes for more than 200 yards and 2 touchdowns, and, ending the game with zero turnovers, he also took tremendous care of the football. Conrath saw tremendous production from his secondary pass catchers, and his defense allowed less than two touchdowns for an extremely impressive fifth time this season. The Junior pass catcher secured 6 catches for a whopping 120 yards and a touchdown. He averaged a staggering 20 yards per reception, and his performance makes it clear that Gonzaga's depth at receiver is elite enough to compete with any defense in the WCAC. Fisher also added 25 rushing yards, bringing his total to 145 all-purpose yards on the day. Even though DeMatha's pass defense has been formidable thus far, I still believe that [player_tooltip player_id='1241912' first='Lincoln' last='Fisher'] will make a great enough impact on this game to make it interesting. Brannan is a dominant 6'4 240 pass catching tight end, and he showcased both his physicality and efficiency against a solid defense last Friday night. Brannan hauled-in 4 balls for 32 yards and a touchdown, and that goes without mentioning his stellar display of blocking throughout the contest. Brannan's forceful presence on the line of scrimmage will be a perfect match for Army's run-style offense, but once defenses get caught cheating on the run then his elite pass catching ability will expose Army's opponents. Hobson averaged about 3 yards per carry with 59 all-purpose yards in this game, and he made a tremendous impact on the passing game. However, my prediction is that he takes his play to the next level on Friday in a rivalry game against the DeMatha Stags. The Sophomore linebacker racked-up more than 10 total tackles for Gonzaga, and he absolutely made the play of the game with a highlight reel interception to ice it. Harley recently received his first D1 offer from The University of Georgia, therefore it's safe to say that good news travels fast.
