DL Solomon Young – Myers Park
Solomon was impressive coming off the ball for the Mustangs. He had a great first step which allowed him to shoot gaps and disrupt runs up the middle for no gain or losses consistently. He even forced a safety in the first quarter with great penetration, allowing his linebackers to come help clean up. He also provided some instant up the middle pressure from the defensive tackle spot when rushing the passer. Young is a Class of 2024 prospect and stands at 6’3 and 275 pounds.
DL Rodney Dunham Rodney Dunham 6'4" | 210 lbs | DL Myers Park | 2026 State NC – Myers Park
This was my first time seeing Rodney up-close – he has received some recruiting attention and offers and has had an impressive growth spurt physically, now standing at 6’5 and 205 pounds. He has the frame that coaches left as a Defensive End/EDGE player that has become very coveted on the college level over the past few years. He showed some nice speed and quickness coming off the edge and did a good job of keeping outside leverage in the run game. Dunham is a Class of 2026 prospect and has offers from Charlotte and East Carolina.
LB Austin Settles – Ardrey Kell
Austin had a strong game from the linebacker spot – he was a key in keeping the game relatively close after Myers Park got out to a strong start in the first quarter. Standing at 6’1 and 195 pounds, he had a total of 12 tackles and 2 and a half sacks in the game. Austin is a Class of 2024 prospect.
DL Davidson Springs – Ardrey Kell
At 6’4 and 235 pounds, Springs made some good plays in the Myers Park backfield in the interior run game on occasion. He helped stop an early drive and hold for a field goal in the first quarter on a 3rd down tackle for loss specifically. Springs is a Class of 2024 prospect and I think he’s a bit under the radar, he may be a steal for someone looking for a prospect with some potential in his future.
