This will be a special class due to the versatility of the athletes if presents who bolster their high school rosters at a young age. Many have already garnered varsity reps and outperform their upper classmen teammates. Take a look at a few of these names who are making noise in their respective programs.
Kaden B. McCarty I 2027 I Edge/TE I 6’1 210 I Cy Ridge HS
Kaden B. McCarty is a man child off the edge! Already on varsity, McCarty’s long 6’1 frame can be seen bending around the edge rendering opposing tackle’s kick slides null and void. His 210 pounds of young aggression allows him to hold up against the girth of varsity linemen in run support allowing him to remain gap sound and play ready. The best part of McCarty is that wingspan! His long arms allow him to get home on the target even when his body is fully engaged and can’t quite turn the corner or shed the resistance. This kid will be a power 5 name! remember that you heard it here first!
Chase Alves Chase Alves 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Flower Mound | 2027 State TX I 2027 I LB I 6’0″ 200 I Flower Mound HS
Chase Alves Chase Alves 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Flower Mound | 2027 State TX is a throwback of a linebacker. Already at 6 feet and 200 plus pounds, Alves is a gap assassin. Alves received an invite to the 2023 OD All American bowl at IMG Academy and is currently on the All-American watch list. He plays downhill and keeps his pad levels at a solid leverage depth while remaining square to the box. Alves hits through the body and drives his feet. The question will be whether or not he stays at linebacker or if he transitions down to the edge. In both cases he could project to a 3-4 outside backer or a Jack off of the edge. Alves has scheme flexibility and a nature that will appeal to any defensive coaching staff.
Phoenix Kai Vengco I 2027 I RB/DB I 5’9 163 I Crescenta Valley HS
Phoenix Kai Vengco aka “The Phoenix” rises out of the backfield as his team’s primary ball carrier with great vision and speed. He is a one cut burst style of runner who utilizes the off arm well to ward off would be tacklers. Once he gets north and south, he seldom is found being brought down by the first opponent. He runs behind his pads and has a nifty burst that puts defenders who tack the wrong pursuit angle in a bind. Phoenix Kai Vengco is definitely a name to watch.
Immanuel Collins I 2027 I WR/KR I 5’9 150 I Wyandotte HS
Immanuel Collins is a three-sport athlete and Diamond Sports Group Youth All-American. This kid has wheels and a knack for the dramatics. Collins is a YAC artist who always seems to have a feel for the soft spots in zone coverage. Upon receiving the ball, he shows the ability to get in and out of breaks while accelerating away from would be tacklers. Collins is electric with the ball in his hands from side to side as well as with his straight-line speed. This serves him well on special teams in the return game. Remember the name Immanuel Collins.
