Clardy comes in as the top ranked 2025 DB in the state. At 6’2” 180 lbs. he possesses great growth potential with a high D1 skillset combining his length, athleticism, and ball skills. Shows he can play both press and off coverage while being physical at the LOS with active hands. He’s instinctual and plays with good eye discipline to recognize route combinations and anticipate allowing him to step into throwing lanes and make a play on the ball. Smooth and efficient with his footwork, he’s patient and stays in balance in his backpedal and coming out of his breaks. Competes for the ball at the high point using his length and ball skills. Brings strong contact in run support and after the catch. Holds offers from UNLV and Nevada but will add more as the recruiting cycle progresses.
Highlights
Kahai is a 6’0” 175 lb. corner that is under recruited given his natural coverage ability and potential. A gifted athlete that shows great body control, lateral agility, and burst. He’s smooth in the hips and plays with good pad level and leverage allowing him to quickly change directions and transition out of his backpedal and into his break. Really like his short area acceleration and his ability to recover and close space in coverage. Possesses a strong and sustained second gear to be rangy and cover all three levels of the field. Plus ball skills, he shows good ball judgement and hands at the catch point. Has been lockdown on the outside for Kennedy Catholic this year with four interceptions and 10 PBU’s. No offers yet but his recruitment is building and is getting attention from several D1 programs.
Highlights
Versatile DB prospect that can be effective from multiple spots in the secondary. 5’8” 160 lbs. currently playing safety for Spanaway Lake he flies around making plays sideline to sideline. Good with his eye’s he’s quick to read and diagnose run/pass. Like his vision and awareness to see the whole field. Plus reactionary quickness, he’s got a fast trigger and good short area burst to break on the ball and eat up space. Excellent in run support and as an open field tackler, he’s relentless in pursuit and brings heavy contact with good leverage to every tackle. Can also come down in the box and fill a gap with intent. Has been impressive in his junior year with 55 total tackles in seven games.
