With Week 5 of the TXHSFB season on the way there are a few big matchups coming up this week as well as some names to keep an eye on.

Conroe Tigers vs The Woodlands

This game will be an epic sold out battle as both rosters are stacked with Division 1 talent on both sides of the ball. The Woodlands is led by none other than their Senior QB 6'6 225lb [player_tooltip player_id='146594' first='Mabrey' last='Mettauer']. Mettauer is ranked in the top 100 for 6A football in the state of Texas and picked up early offers from schools like LSU, Miami, Florida, Nebraska, Baylor, Arizona State and Wisconsin just to name a few. Conroe however has its own set of studs on both sides of the ball especially on defense with 6'2 DE/DT Matthew Westmoreland and 6'0 DB [player_tooltip player_id='628157' first='Isaiah' last='Pruitt'] who holds offers from UTRGV, UIW and a host of others. This game will be an exciting one to watch this weekend.

Reagan vs Marshall

Reagan is 3-0 and 1-0 in district play on the season while they face off against Marshall with hopes to keep their winning and undefeated streak alive. Reagans defense is led by 2024 DB Rice commit [player_tooltip player_id='403823' first='Bailey' last='Fletcher'] and outstanding 2025 RB [player_tooltip player_id='1357854' first='Cole' last='Pryor'] who also holds several offers including at home with his UTSA offer.

Boerne Champion vs Hays

At 4-0 facing a tough 3-1 Hays opponent this game has the makings of becoming an instant classic once it's all said and done. Boerne Champion looks to get payback from last years 34-29 loss to Hays at home in front of their sellout crowd. Expect this game to have a little more emphasis at least for one team as they both fight to come out victorious.

La Vernia vs Sinton

La Vernia is averaging 45.5 pts a game and is considered one of the top undefeated teams not in 6A. Every game they've played so far this season has seemed to be too easy for them so it'll be interested to see if Sinton can come into town and shake things up as they look to get back on the other side of winning after falling short to Calhoun 2 weeks ago and having their Edna game canceled.
