Carlson led Kaneland to a 35 point victory over Ottawa on Friday. The Class of 2024 quarterback threw for 335 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the season, Carlson has accounted for 20 total touchdowns and nearly 1,500 total yards. What’s most impressive about Carlson his is powerful arm and ability to throw on the run. The dual threat signal caller makes the majority of his plays by keeping his eyes downfield when scrambling and accurately dropping dimes all over the field. There’s a lot to like about Carlson’s game, as the 2 time All-State QB is setting himself up for another year of success.

Nuri Muhammad
Nuri Muhammad
The 5’5 tailback continues to impress weekly for one of the state’s top programs in Lincoln-Way East. The Griffins are currently 5-0, and Muhammad is a key reason why. On a night where LWE rolled passed Andrew High School, Muhammad rolled into the end zone 5 times. Totaling 170 yards on 18 carries, the twitchy running back uses both grit and flash to break long runs. He is shifty between the tackles, setting up blocks and creating seams. Once he reaches the second and third level, Muhammad’s powerful running style takes over, as it takes more than an just arm tackle to bring him down. Muhammad has had a successful high school career and will be a big part of the Griffin’s offense on their quest towards a state championship.
Fitzpatrick has been a workhorse for the Barrington Broncos this season. He is currently top 15 in the state in rushing yards, tallying 644 on 104 carries through Week 5. Fitzpatrick also has 8 rushing touchdowns. He added 220 yards and 2 touchdowns last Friday in the Broncos win over Fremd. The senior tailback is a strong and powerful runner who gets downhill in a hurry. He runs through tackles with ease at the first and second level, as Fitzpatrick plays with low pad level and a solid forward lean. From there, his speed takes over as he accelerates towards the end zone. Fitzpatrick has played a massive role in Barrington’s perfect season and will continue making a name for himself throughout the state in his final campaign.
The 6’4, 210 lb quarterback had another successful night as Fenwick defeated Niles Notre Dame 24-13. Hill accounted for 323 passing yards, as the senior QB had the deep ball working all night. He has tremendous poise in the pocket and the arm strength to make almost any throw. Hill has a smooth release and polished footwork that allows him to get behind his throws. Whether its making a level 1 throw to the curl, a level 2 ball over the middle of the field, or a vertical ball, Hill has the arm strength and accuracy to complete it. Fenwick is off to a great start this season, and Hill is sure to continue that trend.

The Bolingbrook senior and Wisconsin commit has been one of the top receivers in Illinois for the Class of 2024 throughout his high school career. He’s been having a phenomenal season this go-around, gaining 224 yards and 2 touchdowns last Friday against Lincoln-Way West. The speedy wide receiver was un-guardable on deep balls, showcasing his ability to make contested catches all night. Berry Johnson has fantastic body control, as he can adjust to the ball in mid-air and secure the catch. Additionally, Berry Johnson had a big night in the screen game, often making the first, second, and third defenders miss with his shifty cuts in the open field. All-and-all, Berry Johnson is lighting it up in his final season before he heads off to Madison.
