Cole McConathy Cole McConathy 6’5″ | 230 lbs | DL Spanish Fort | 2024 State AL is a highly productive outside linebacker for Spanish Fort that has been unstoppable so far this season. Last week, McConathy was a massive force to be reckoned with in his team’s matchup against Theodore. In total, McConathy recorded an impressive 10 tackles (3 for loss) and two sacks. McConathy had himself a day, he consistently made key stops and prevented Theodore’s offense from getting any momentum. Nearly every snap, he was finding himself in the backfield putting pressure/bringing down the quarterback and crashing in on the line of scrimmage to stop the run as well. All throughout the game, McConathy was dominating the trenches and made play after play. Keep an eye on him the remainder of this year, McConathy, a Louisville commit, has been unbelievable this season.
Justin Godwin Justin Godwin 5’11” | 175 lbs | DB Chilton County | 2025 State AL is a super talented defensive back for Chilton County that has made a ton of plays for them this season and last week against Calera he may have had his best game yet. Godwin was a huge playmaker in this game as he recorded 7 tackles, and two interceptions as well. All four quarters, Godwin demonstrated his ability to make key stops and contribute to his team’s defensive effort- whether it was by flying around the field and making tackles or by utilizing his top tier ball-hawking abilities Godwin had himself a game. Outside of the stat sheet, Godwin provided terrific coverage and didn’t allow any separation on the receivers he was guarding. Keep an eye on him and this Chilton County defense, they’ve been balling out this season!
Keith Green Keith Green 6’1″ | 245 lbs | DL Hueytown | 2024 State AL is a dominant defensive lineman for Hueytown that has been making some big time plays in the trenches this season. Last week, Green put up a terrific performance in their game against Bessemer City- he totaled up an impressive 7 tackles (2 for loss) and 2 sacks on the game. Green’s impact on the defensive front was undeniable, as he consistently wreaked havoc in the opposing backfield. All throughout the game he was able to penetrate the line of scrimmage and disrupt the rhythm of Bessemer City’s offense by either putting consistent pressure on the quarterback or by clogging up running lanes and making tackles on the ball carrier. Keith Green Keith Green 6’1″ | 245 lbs | DL Hueytown | 2024 State AL was huge in this game and has a big year ahead of him, keep an eye on this guy!
Alec Huskey Alec Huskey 5’11” | 180 lbs | DB Huntsville | 2024 State AL is a dynamic defensive back for Huntsville that is able to make a ton of plays for his team whether it be on defense or special teams. Last week, Huskey showcased his incredible skillset in a matchup against Bob Jones, and man his impact on the game was undeniable. Defensively, Huskey was a tackling machine- he recorded an impressive 19 tackles and two pass breakups as well. Huskey’s ability to read plays and make open-field stops was massive and when you pair that with his excellent ball skills he was truly slowing down all dimensions of Bob Jones’ offense. Huskey’s contributions didn’t stop there however as he had a huge momentum-shifting play on special teams when he blocked a punt. Overall, Alec Huskey Alec Huskey 5’11” | 180 lbs | DB Huntsville | 2024 State AL had himself an explosive, dynamic performance- keep an eye on him going forward!
