Continue ReadingGino Blasini Gino Blasini 6’2″ | 195 lbs | DB Kirtland | 2024 State OH has stepped up for an already good defense to lead the way with his playmaking abilities. An instinctive player who has the physical tools to disrupt passes in the second and third level, Blasini shows above average footwork to get into position ahead of passes. His best weapon on defense is his closing speed to crash down on passes at the last moment to get the ball away from its target. Showing improved strength leading to bigger hits on defense as well as better ability to finish off tackles. He has impressed this season even more on offense as an elusive runner with the ball in his hands. Has an effortless stride to gain yardage quickly and has the balance to shift his body to work towards open space. His big size at 6-foot-2 gives his quarterback a large target area to throw to with good success. Is able to absorb contact with his big frame and fight for extra yardage. His coaches have worked Blasini into the offense anyway they can with opportunities in the backfield as well. With his recruitment fully open, Blasini is gaining strength in the first half of the season and has schools noticing.

Highlights
Denver Scott Denver Scott 6’1″ | 190 lbs | ATH Lutheran West | 2025 OH has become a standout on defense in his junior season for his physical style of play and speed. Primarily a run stopping linebacker who commits to playing up towards the line and uses his quick acceleration to get into the backfield. Scott is a defender with good play recognition ability to come up and make stops before they open up for bigger plays. Packs a big punch at first contact that can send a ball carrier backwards. Strong footwork to quickly change direction and attack where the play is headed. Has good upper body strength to shed blocks. Has the flexibility to maneuver through traffic to bring down ball carriers in his range. Is a sure tackler, doesn’t let backs slip through and can handle one-on-one situations regularly. Has the motor you want to see out of a young linebacker to never give up on plays. Scott is a rising name to watch on defense playing with a good squad that has gotten him noticed by several schools including Pennsylvania and Toledo.

Julian Patti Julian Patti 6’2″ | 205 lbs | QB Rocky River | 2024 State OH has come on strong in his senior season with some video game-type numbers to have his team off to a good start this season. Patti shows impressive velocity getting the football out of his hands quickly and delivered to his man. Has a quick release even on his deep passes to get the ball downfield with accuracy. Uses touch passes to fit balls into tighter coverage when the defense tightens up. Is very effective in his five-step dropbacks to complete passes in stride over the middle of the field. Makes impressive throws at the third level to hit his receivers in sride for home run plays. Already with 15 touchdowns to two interceptions headed into the halfway point of the season, Patti has been one of the biggest risers in Northeast Ohio on offense. He is a player with good mobility to keep a play alive or improvise when a play breaks down to throw on the run at open players. Keeps his feet active when scanning the field, feels pressure well and repositions himself if needed. Is elusive behind the line of scrimmage to be a hard target to bring down. Patti is a name that will continue to rise with the play he has shown so far this season.

Ben Montgomery
Ben Montgomery
Ben Montgomery has been the driving force of his team’s offensive success this season lining up behind center, but using his legs as the main weapon. Running the RPO with a quick ability to read what the defense is giving him, Montgomery is effective at getting his offense upfield with big plays. He shows just the right amount of patience to let defenders overrun the play before he takes off with good acceleration for positive yards. Is an effective runner between the tackles by playing small and exploding through gaps. Plays well outside the tackles as well, will often threaten to pass before bringing the ball down to gain yards on the ground. If defenses don’t respect his game, he can get off passes to wide open receivers. Throws effectively on designed rollout passes to keep the offense moving and the defense guessing. Is a slippery runner when facing multiple defenders, plays to the whistle and is capable of slipping out of multiple tackles. Montgomery is a player that can do big things with the ball in his hands and his coaches show a lot of trust in his abilities by letting him run the offense. Definitely a fun player to watch throughout the season.
