There were collegiate prospects all over the field, but this article highlights five specific players from the Cardinal Ritter and St. Louis University High School games. Below, I detail why these five prospects are moving up the recruiting ranks early this fall.
Isaiah Edwards
Isaiah Edwards
Isaiah Edwards is a versatile defender for Cardinal Ritter. Isaiah has the instincts to play inside backer in college, but his pass rush ability may lead to him lining up at OLB. Isaiah holds one offer from Marshall University, and I would expect that to change before 2024 gets here. Isaiah was decisive when attacking the line of scrimmage in the run game and showed good strength when finishing tackles. Isaiah displayed good awareness in zone coverage. Good closing speed and a smooth change of direction showed successfully pursuing Helias’ outside run plays. Good size and the ability to find the ball quickly will have defensive coaches evaluating Isaih’s tape all fall.
Despite the loss, Chase Wisecarver Chase Wisecarver 6’5″ | 280 lbs | OL Helias | 2025 State MO stood out to me in the trenches last Friday night. Chase showed good athleticism and quick feet reach blocking Cardinal Ritter defenders for Helias’ outside run game. Good length and quickness allowed Chase to mirror Cardinal Ritter pass rushers efficiently. Coaches will also be sure to notice the next level power displayed moving the defenders at the point of attack. Chase’s versatility, size, and next level skill set will be sure to solidify him as a rising OL prospect in Missouri’s 2024 class.
Highlights
DJ Miller
DJ Miller
DJ Miller is the latest prospect producing on offense for the defending state champion Lions. He is in his first season with Cardinal Ritter and received nine scholarship offers while at East St. Louis. DJ showed good vertical separation and adjustment ability scoring on a deep ball for Cardinal Ritter last Friday. DJ showed good quickness with the ball in his hands and next level strength in his finish after catching well-covered balls over the middle. Watch out for DJ to be one of the highest rising playmakers in Missouri this fall.
Jacobi Oliphant Jacobi Oliphant 6’4″ | 180 lbs | DB St. Louis University | 2024 State MO has been producing in all three phases already this fall. Jacobi’s versatility flashed again during SLUH’s dominant win last Friday. The defensive back prospect showed value as a kick returner and also earned a sack blitzing the quarterback off the edge. Jacobi’s range and balls skills shined in pass coverage, but next level long speed was on full display as he ran untouched into the endzone after picking the ball off late in the game. Jacobi received his fifteenth offer from Missouri State this week, and I would expect coaches around the Midwest to recruit the talented defender up until he commits.
Highlights
Dominique Dixon is a Cardinal Ritter newcomer but by no means is an unknown prospect. Dominique holds offers from Wyoming and Eastern Illinois, so be on the lookout for his first season in Missouri to lead to more scholarships in the region. Dominique showed a great combination of instincts and acceleration flying to the line of scrimmage to disrupt Helias screen passes before they had a chance to gain positive yardage. Good power, size, and tackling ability gets displayed attacking the line of scrimmage in run defense with urgency. Watch for Dominique’s rare combination of size, burst, and football IQ to lead to his recruitment for multiple positions on defense this fall.
