On either side of the state and with a high-profile visit to Catawba Ridge Region, players from the Central Savannah River Area and Grand Strand and Pee Dee decided Friday was a good time to show out.

This week's combined Game Balls packed a punch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012871' first='Terrell' last='Thomas'] QB, Edisto

Edisto needed Thomas' best against Branchville, and if the 36-32 win wasn't evidence enough, Thomas' numbers were. The senior rushed for a career-high 234 yards and three touchdowns. It was his fourth straight 100-yard rushing game after putting up just 63 yards as a part-time tailback (he was a starting linebacker then) a year ago. The positional change has been huge for him personally, and it's a sign of what Edisto intends to do with the 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior the rest of the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='996926' first='Jamarion' last='Jones'] RB, Latta

Jones is on pace to smash his 1,600-yard, 17-touchdown junior campaign this year - even before you start to consider how many extra games this team might get in the playoffs. Thanks to his 290-yard, four-touchdown performance in the blowout win over Johnsonville, Jones has now matched last year's scoring total after just five games and is already north of the 1,000-yard mark. All of that has come while he's nearly doubled up on his yards-per-carry (7.74 to 15.0).

[player_tooltip player_id='139299' first='Jordan' last='Boyd'] DL, Silver Bluff

You could throw a dart at the Bulldogs' starting lineup and probably hit someone who had a big game individually against Orangeburg-Wilkinson after Silver Bluff held it 41 total yards of offense. This time, we're taking Boyd (pictured), who finished with eight tackles, two tackles for loss, five quarterback hurries and a pass break-up in the 49-0 win on the road.

Kemonte Rose DB, South Florence

In a game pitting two of the top Class 4A team against each other, the Bruins' trip to South Pointe ended up being a successful one. Rose was largely responsible. The senior corner picked off two Stallions' passes, including one in the fourth quarter that he returned 27 yards for what ended up being South Florence's final points of the evening. He also added four solo tackles.

[player_tooltip player_id='652832' first='Noah' last='Moore'] LB, South Florence

Ready for another heady defensive stat line from that game? Look no further than Moore, the senior linebacker who has stepped into a big role for the Bruins this season. Against South Pointe, Moore recorded six solo stops, six assisted tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks. How about another number? Moore was at directly responsible for at least a part of ending 27 percent of the Stallions' 59 offensive plays from scrimmage.

Cooper Kelly DB/WR, St. James

St. James is in need of playmakers, and Kelly again proved he could be a focal point down the stretch in the lopsided loss to Ashley Ridge. In addition to his three solo tackles and three assisted stops, Kelly also flashed some brilliance in the run game, coming in motion out of his position out wide, drifting behind quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='91513' first='Connor' last='Schwalm'] and then acting as the pitch man in the option game. He did it six times, rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

La'Ontray Knox RB, Loris

The senior tailback made sure Conway fans remembered his trip south a few miles when he pilled up 145 yards and two scores on the ground and caught another two passes for 47 yards and another touchdown. His play took a ton of pressure off quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='327302' first='Jackson' last='Huff']. Knox is also well on his well to surprising last season's 681 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='605527' first='Jaquel' last='Holman'] RB, Blackville-Hilda

Holman definitely responded well to getting shut down in the 7-6 loss to Bamberg-Ehrhardt in Week 3 by helping the Hawks jump all over Denmark-Olar on Friday. The senior used his 16 carries to rush for 162 yards and three touchdowns. He also had two receptions for 18 yards, giving him his second game of 180 total yards from scrimmage in five games in a Blackville-Hilda uniform.
