Mike Jones Mike Jones 5’11” | 185 lbs | RB Pike Road | 2026 State AL is an explosive sophomore running back that has steadily become one of the best in the nation at his position, and so far this season Jones has been fantastic for Pike Road. Last week, Jones had a terrific performance against Sidney Lanier where he put his ridiculous speed and agility on full display- Jones rushed for an astounding 201 yards on just 18 carries, consistently breaking through the defense and picking up crucial yards for his team. In addition to that, Jones was able to find the end zone with ease, as he posted up a ridiculous 4 touchdowns as well. Jones’s ability to evade tacklers and burst through openings in the defense has made him an unstoppable weapon in the running game. Jones has picked up tons of offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Miami, and more!
Laquenton Underwood Laquenton Underwood 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Carver | 2024 State AL has been a terrific wide receiver for Carver as he has put up consistent performances on a weekly basis. Last week was no different as Underwood delivered a fantastic performance against Russell County. Underwood’s explosive presence had to be accounted for on every snap as he recorded four receptions for an impressive 171 yards in receiving-his ability to gain separation from defenders and haul in deep passes made him a constant threat. What truly set Underwood apart was his ability to get downfield and into the endzone as he was able to haul two of those four passes in for touchdowns. Underwood’s combination of speed, route-running, and reliable hands made him a go-to target for his quarterback last week. Underwood can make some game changing plays and is set up for a great remainder of the year!
TJ Worthy TJ Worthy 5’10” | 175 lbs | RB Gadsden City | 2025 State AL is a super productive and versatile back for Gadsden City, and just put on a show in the game against Fort Payne last Friday. Worthy was able to make a bunch of great plays on the ground and through the air, constantly presenting problems for Fort Payne’s defense. On the ground, Worthy carried the ball 15 times for an impressive 171 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns as well. Worthy has a ton of explosiveness and elusiveness that made him a constant threat to break off big runs, and when you pair that with his ability to make catches out the backfield- he’s a serious weapon. Worthy made a significant impact in the passing game, catching one reception for 34 yards and another touchdown. Worthy’s ability to contribute as both a rusher and a receiver made him a standout player in this game and highlighted his elite versatility in his game- keep an eye on him heading forward!
Amari Brundidge Amari Brundidge 6’0″ | 220 lbs | RB Parker | 2024 State AL is a lightning-fast running back for Parker that’s having a big year so far, and last week was no different as he had an outstanding performance against Mortimer Jordan. Brundidge’s speed and agility were on full display as he rushed for an impressive 175 yards on just 13 carries, consistently getting every yard he could off of each carry. Brundidge also was able to provide two crucial touchdowns- his ability to efficiently carry the ball and find the end zone really stands out- he was a huge factor in Parker’s offensive success last week. Keep an eye on him as we continue throughout the year, Brundidge and Parker are having great seasons, and were only going to see more!
