Making the leap into the starting quarterback role for his junior season, Alex Affolter Alex Affolter 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Avon Lake | 2025 OH is making his impact felt with precise play to extend an offense of playmakers. Affolter is able to stretch the field with a good arm and quick release that gets the ball to an open man quickly. Performs well in quick dropbacks to attack defenses before reads can be established. Makes sharp throws at the second level to keep his receivers in stride. Is a good improviser when protection breaks down, able to use his footwork for burst to find space to tuck and run or throw. Can make good throws on the run. Is confident in his throws, commits to his receiver early in longer routes to give them space to settle under the ball. Makes off-balanced throws when the pressure builds around him, finds tight arm angles to throw from to prevent losing yards. Has a strong delivery to drive balls into tight spots and deep into the third level. Affolter has shown maturing in his first three weeks as the man under center that has led to good decision making to improve the offense and the weapons around him.

Chris Newell Jr Chris Newell Jr 5’10” | 180 lbs | DB Glenville | 2026 State OH is a name we are going to be talking about as his stock rises as a defensive back on the rise. Newell’s game is well ahead of a player his age with next level anticipation to disrupt plays before they can develop. His athleticism allows him to shadow receivers and strike at the last moment for pass breakups. Has great body control to adjust himself to throws in his area to knock them away. Has good footwork when backpedaling to get up to speed and keep tight coverage on his man. Versatile on defense to play up against coverage or drop back to play with more range. Has good speed to come up to clean up against running plays. Hits with good power to knock back ball carriers. Lets his instincts take over when the play is headed his way, adjusts his body quickly to attack the play. Above average speed to get into position against the pass. An athlete in every sense of the word that needs to be on coaches radars as a Division I talent in the making. Has big play ability built into his game you don’t see from most sophomores, one of the top players to watch this season.

Highlights
Scott Eaton Jr
Scott Eaton Jr
Scott Eaton Jr is a do-it-all type of player that makes plays on both sides of the ball. On defense, Eaton is an aggressive defensive back that brings the wood on big hits, but has the finesse to attack passes and create turnovers. Keeps a low center to change directions quickly to challenge passes thrown his direction. Shows good anticipation to turn on routes to get his body in front of receivers. Has a good reaction to get his hand up at the last moment for quick pass breakups. On offense, he is a player his coaches know to get involved in the offense anyway they can. Plays well as a receiver to cut hard on routes to lose defenders for an open target. Has nice hands to pull in balls on the move to keep working up field. Is a more than capable running back that recognizes openings quickly and works towards them. Keeps his feet under him to perform cuts at any moment. Has the speed to finish off runs and get past defensive backs for big gains. Is a slippery runner that can get out of arm tackles with ease while maintaining good speed to finish runs off. Eaton is a gamer on both sides of the ball that is off to a great start to his senior year, with a few offers to the next level, he should see more coming his way at this pace.

Zack Barnhart
Zack Barnhart
Powering his team to a 3-0 start to the season, Zack Barnhart has come on strong as a primary back as a player that can take hits and keep on moving. A downhill runner once up to speed, Barnhart doesn’t waste movement pushing up the field for chunk yardage. He has an effective first cut that sends the defense moving past his hole. Has good acceleration after a cut to push his body forward and attack openings. Keeps good balance weaving through traffic to attack into the second level. A high yards per carry guy that shows reliability to absorb contact and keep pushing. Still developing as a back, but has a good base to work off of with compact size. While he does his damage attacking in the second level, has the speed to get through into the third level for big gains. Shows good patience around the goal line for the best opportunity to score for his team. Plays behind a strong offensive line and rewards the big guys by getting the most of his carries last week for 171 yards on the ground and a score.
