DB: Trevor Clark-Chaulsett 5’8″ 165 lbs 2025 Pipestone
The Pipestone DB brought down two INTs last night, both of which were great catches on his part. He could extend his 5’8″ frame to cover bigger opponents and provided them with tight coverage in man all night long. He was attached to the wideout’s hip and did a great job of tracking the QB’s eyes before breaking on the ball. Fantastic game by Clark-Chaulsett.

LB: Hudson Burnett 6′ 155 lbs 2024 Pipestone
Burnett was the owner of the first sack on the night, as well as one of the biggest hits. The 1x MN State Wrestling Champion showed off some amazing tackling all night. When he got a piece of guys they were never getting by. With good speed and solid instincts, Burnett had himself a game last night.

LB: Lucas Thooft 5’6″ 175 lbs 2025 Pipestone
Another kid with a crazy heads-up play, when LeSueur was driving midway through the fourth, Thooft came through the line on a blitz, saw the ball carrier getting the handoff, and punched it right out of his hands before landing on it and recovering the turnover. He had been a little missile all night, flying from alley to alley and hitting ball carriers, but his key play in the fourth lands him here today.

DL: Jackson Melcher 6’2″ 205 lbs 2024 Pipestone
Melcher was a problem all night for the Giant’s offensive line. The big man provided constant pressure in the passing game and even tallied a big-time sack late in the second half. He racked up a bunch of tackles in the first half, as he effectively swallowed up the interior run game for much of the first two quarters. Melcher is a senior some MIAC schools should take a look at.

DB: Carter Wilke 5’11” 160 lbs 2025 LeSueur-Henderson
Wilke had one of the clutchest plays of the game. Late in the 4th quarter when Pipestone was driving, a hitch was thrown, low and inside. Wilke made a heads-up play and with a diving catch, picked off the QB. This stopped their drive of course, which is part of the reason that the game went into OT. He provided solid coverage throughout the night and stepped up when it mattered most.

LB: George Doherty 5’10” 230 lbs 2026 LeSueur-Henderson
A fullback-linebacker combo, Doherty had a great game on both sides of the ball. Offensively he was nearly impossible to bring down, but on defense, he delivered giant hits across the middle all game. Doherty’s presence in the middle of the field made running the ball between the tackles extremely difficult, even for a good Pipestone offense. His speed relative to his size was astounding. The sophomore has a bright future if he continues to build.

LB: Jack Fuhrman 6′ 150 lbs 2026 LeSueur-Henderson
Fuhrman had one of the best heads-up plays that I’ve ever seen in high school football. Pipestone went to throw a small halfback screen, Fuhrman recognized it, fought through the linemen, and picked off the QB before he even knew that Fuhrman was there. He made other plays throughout the night, but that early interception was huge in LeSueur getting momentum early on.
