The GSL has been at the forefront of high powered offenses that are known for a pass-first mentality. When going through the record books, you see how prevalent passing is - as impending NFL QBs Connor Halliday and Brett Rypien dominated the state stat lines over the last two decades. Although their GSL careers are long over, the GSL offenses have changed in totality, so let's take a look at the wide receivers making that possible!

[player_tooltip player_id='643408' first='Bode' last='Gardner'] 6'2” 180lbs - Boasting elite track speed and incredible catching ability, Bode is one of the most under recruited athletes in the state. Showing a solid junior season, Bode has gone on the dominate at multiple camps this off-season, including the NW Showcase and the Spokane Showcase, where he won every rep. Mt. Spokane knows what they have in Gardner, and I expect him to be showcased in the offense even more this year. Although he is waiting on his first scholarship offer, he has been gaining interest from schools all over the Big-Sky, including Montana, Idaho, and EWU; where his father Brain played safety. Those offers will come this season and I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more schools interested by Early Signing Day. I urge those in the Spokane area to watch Bode play on a Friday Night this fall, and you too will see how special of a talent he is.

[player_tooltip player_id='1040100' first='Brayden' last='Allen'] 6'0” 175lbs - Brayden has been turning heads since his 1,000+ Yd Freshman showing, being the primary offensive weapon since the inception of the Ridgeline football program. Being a 2025 athlete, Brayden should attract a few offers this upcoming spring. When watching his film you can see the multitude of ways he is distributed the ball, whether it is flexed-out as the isolated receiver, or in the slot during a tight formation concept, Brayden makes things happen and gets open.

Sam Toure 6'3” 195lbs - The most physical player on this list in a very physical offense, Sam's film will make any football purest smile. Standing at 6'3 and 195lbs, he bullies corners all over the tape. Although he top-end speed is not quite like the others on this list, his precise route-running and incredible jumping ability greatly makeup for it. I expect Sam to get a lot of local attention this fall at the collegiate level, but I'd like to see him consider Junior College options as I believe he has a much higher ceiling than we've seen on his Junior film. In-State schools like EWU and CWU need to be on notice for his rise this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='915345' first='Max' last='Workman'] 6'3” 180lbs - The Battle of The Bell should be riddled with touchdown catches as Max shows big play ability for Mead High School. With good size on the edge, a lot of Workman's hull tape includes tunnel screens and divider routes from both the slot and outside receiver positions, showing a lot of versatility in the offense. Playing opposite Keenan Kuntz last season, Max will see new looks from defenses to try and limit his touches, giving a different expectation going into his senior season. Look for Max to attract local scholarship offers from programs like College of Idaho and CWU this season, as his potential is incredibly high.

Kordell Laher 5'9” 150lbs - Seeing Kordell at the GSL 7on7 league this summer is usually a headache waiting to happen for opposing defensive coordinators. Kordell's ability to create yards after the catch and make defenders miss is what makes his play so fun to watch. Although he is one of the smaller players on this list, he does not lack the physical play. Look for him to gain more college attention at his game grows, I'd really like to see what he could do in the backfield along with playing in the slot. When Cheney is looking for explosive plays this season, Kordell is gonna be their guy.
