With many of the CSRA teams either off or traveling out of area, the number of high-profile games taking place inside the zone is limited a bit in Week 3.

But this weekend's has plenty to keep watch of as the season inches closer to region play.

Blackville-Hilda (3-0) at Bamberg-Ehrhardt (2-1)

In what is probably the biggest game between two teams from the zone this week, the Hawks will bring their undefeated record and a sneak solid defense to town. Linebackers KJ Sabb (14 total tackles last week against Allendale-Fairfax) and [player_tooltip player_id='1359157' first='Jabarius' last='Johnson'] (10 tackles, two tackles for loss against A-F) made sure the Hawks allowed just 74 net yards in that game. Bamberg-Ehrhardt's defense isn't too shabby, either. Between Y'Zorion Washington on the line, linebackers [player_tooltip player_id='997288' first='Nick' last='Folk'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1142485' first='Jamie' last='Downing'] and safety [player_tooltip player_id='816740' first='Marcus' last='Cann'] is a unit that has allowed a mere 35 points in three games.

Bethune-Bowman (0-2) at Edisto (2-1)

[player_tooltip player_id='1012871' first='Terrell' last='Thomas'] has gotten on track for Edisto after a rough opener, having run for 270 yards and five touchdowns and throwing for two more scores in the last two games alone. Not surprisingly, the Cougars won each of those games. If they're going to do so again, they're going to have to overtake a Bethune-Bowman offense that is cut from the same cloth. Senior quarterback Derick Simons has three rushing touchdowns already to go along with his one passing score. It's a far cry from his strong junior season, but this is also the Mohawks' third straight game against a team from a larger classification.

Harlem, Ga. (2-1) at Midland Valley (3-0)

Former tailback Jason Williams was largely responsible for the 28-7 thumping Harlem laid on Midland Valley a year ago, as he ran for a season-high 203 yards and three touchdowns. In his absence, the Bulldogs have put more of the onus on senior quarterback Ethan Evangelista, an efficient player who completed 80 percent of his passes during the team's first two games. What that means for Midland Valley is that to move to 4-0, controlling the clock and keeping its offense on the field will be huge. Big tackles [player_tooltip player_id='267450' first='Braydn' last='Kesselring'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1142590' first='Ashton' last='Mozone'] will have to keep the edges clean for quarterback Preston Butler and tailbacks [player_tooltip player_id='91348' first='Traevon' last='Dunbar'] (pictured) and [player_tooltip player_id='272712' first='Preston' last='McNair'] so the Mustangs can stay on the field.

MORE PLAYER NOTABLES

[player_tooltip player_id='1254065' first='Lex' last='Thomas'] LB, Barnwell - Despite coming off a pair of losses, Barnwell and Thomas will have a chance to re-establish some positive momentum against Orangeburg-Wilkinson this week. Thomas is leading the Warhorses in tackles (34), and he and Jeremiah Eaddy are developing into a strong one-two punch.

[player_tooltip player_id='315319' first='Tamari' last='Daniels'] WR, Blackville-Hilda - Daniels is doing exactly what Hawks' fans hoped he would, taking advantage of his speed to put up huge chunk plays. Bamberg-Ehrhardt will have to stop a player who with 14 touches (10 receptions, four carries) on offense this year has put 234 yards. That's 16.7 yards per touch, if you don't feel like breaking out the calculator.

[player_tooltip player_id='997299' first='Trey' last='Hinton'] QB/DB, Denmark-Olar - Hinton was asked to expand on his previous role as a corner (where he had six picks last year) and also take over the offense. D-O is still a week away from the region-opening showdown with Blackville-Hilda, but against Allendale-Fairfax, keep an eye on Hinton's arm and legs. They're going to want him firing on all cylinders next Friday.
