#5 Jesuit @ #1 West Linn (WL-27.5)

Jesuit is playing the toughest non-league schedule in the NW so I wouldn't read too much into the losses to 4A WA state title contender Skyview and a Central Catholic team who could be ranked nationally. That said as the Lions are the real deal and ranked #1 for a reason, outscoring their first two opponents by a score of 78-3. West Linn can still play much better and I think they will against a good Crusaders team.

#2 Central Catholic @ Sandy (CC -36.5)

Give Sandy credit as they played their first two opponents tough, losing to a decent Sunset team by 5 and to #9 Tigard by 6. Central will likely hammer the Pio's and be done by half. Separate from 2x Mt Hood POY [player_tooltip player_id='152354' first='Cru' last='Newman'], CC is young with most of the athletes scoring TD's being underclassmen. As good as they are now, they could be scary good in the future.

#3 Lake Oswego @ #12 Mountainside (LO -13.5)

I'm not sure people realize how talented Lake O is. A young LO team lost 24-7 to Mountainside last season. I could see this being the complete opposite of that. Mountainside is one of the fastest rising programs in the state and could be a top 5 team next year, but I think they are a season away. Look for the Lakers to control the clock with talented QB [player_tooltip player_id='285866' first='Liam' last='Davis'] and RB's [player_tooltip player_id='402416' first='Lamarcus' last='Bell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='152359' first='Zavier' last='Russell'] and win by at least a couple scores.

(5A) Wilsonville @ #4 Tualatin (TUAL -15)

Wilsonville is a clear cut #1 at the 5A level, but they might not be a top 10 team in 6A, just to put the matchup into perspective. The T-Wolves squeaked out a 17-14 win in a hostile environment, against traditional Washington 3A power Lincoln last week. [player_tooltip player_id='152339' first='Jayden' last='Fortier'] has been playing out of his mind. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='152355' first='AJ' last='Noland'] and [player_tooltip player_id='285857' first='Nolan' last='Keeney'] to have a big night against the Cats.

#6 Lakeridge @ Westview (LAK -43)

The Pacers got a 42-20 win over an average at best Sprague team last week. Westview is in a rebuilding phase and ranked towards the bottom at the 6A level. This should be over early.

(5A) Summit @ #7 Sherwood (SHER -10)

Reigning 5A state champ Summit played much better last week in the 46-25 win over a decent Thurston team. This will be a matchup of QB's with talented Cali transfer [player_tooltip player_id='554386' first='Jimmy' last='Hughes'] leading the Storm and Conference POY favorite [player_tooltip player_id='278398' first='Kasen' last='Covert'] looking to make a statement. The Bowmen have one of the better defenses in the state and I see that being the difference.

Century @ #8 Oregon City (OC-30.5)

The Jaguars might not win a game this year, as OC should win this big. The Pioneers played OK the first two weeks against Jeff and Canby, with the biggest concern being a very uncompetitive non-league schedule before the brutal TRL gauntlet.

Glencoe @ #9 Tigard (TIG -16)

Glencoe's Ian Reynoso is one of the best coaches in the state, but this will be a tough environment to win. Tigard hung on to beat a scrappy Sandy team last week on the road. They will have the luxury of playing at home this week at one of the best venues in Oregon. Look for the Crimson Tide to potentially hang around for a bit.

#10 Sheldon @ Sprague (SHELD -17.5)

The Irish lost to two very talented programs to start the season in #1 West Linn and Mililani, Hawaii. That said as there are big question marks surrounding this group. This will need to be statement game where they go and route the Oly's in Salem.

#11 South Medford @ McNary (SMED -29)

McNary got blanked by Beaverton 21-0 last week after playing a decent McMinnville team tough in the opener. South has a realistic shot of winning the SWC this year behind an outstanding line and Jr. RB/S [player_tooltip player_id='285876' first='Kameron' last='Rague']. This game shouldn't be close.

#13 South Salem @ Grants Pass (SSAL -19)

This contest is tough to predict as it relates to the point spread. GP can be a tough place to play, but they were incredibly unimpressive last week, losing 34-14 to 5A Caldera on the road. South had their own troubles, barely beating an average Sunset team 45-44. Look for the Saxons to play much better and drop 50 on Grants Pass.

#14 Barlow @ Gresham (BAR -32)

[player_tooltip player_id='520401' first='Sentori' last='Martino'] has been one of the most impressive kids in the state over the first two weeks for the Bruins. The loss of 2x 1st team all-league lineman [player_tooltip player_id='238631' first='Dylan' last='Howell'] hurts, but Barlow has dudes and they have been playing pretty well. Considering the situation, the Gophers have done OK so far, but this will likely be over by half.

#15 Nelson @ Reynolds (NELS -38)

I have no idea how Reynolds lost to Roosevelt 40-0 last week, but Nelson should be able to get rested up.

OTHER GAMES

West Salem @ North Medford (NMED -1)

Liberty @ Sunset (SUN -8.5)

Beaverton @ (5A) Canby (CAN -8)

Roosevelt @ Jefferson (JEFF -2)

Ridgeview @ McMinnville (MCM -23)

North Salem @ Roseburg (PICK EM)
