The state of Texas never disappoints in the talent that is produced. The high school football season is in high gear now and we saw plenty of tight football games and impressive performances to kick off our Labor Day weekend. In this article, we are going to look at some performances that opened some eyes on Friday night. It was another great night of football in the Lone Star State.

[player_tooltip player_id='138376' first='Noah' last='Long']-Running Back-Liberty Hill-2024

Liberty Hill and Hutto put on one of the most entertaining games of the night this week. Liberty Hill running back [player_tooltip player_id='138376' first='Noah' last='Long'] had a tremendous Friday night. Long rushed for over 250-yards and 5 touchdowns on the night. Liberty Hill needed every touchdown in a high-scoring 82-80 win. Long is off to a great start to the season and is a prospect to watch out for the rest of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='414145' first='Josiah' last='Martin']-Wide Receiver-Denton Guyer-2024

[player_tooltip player_id='414145' first='Josiah' last='Martin'] has gotten the 2023 football season off to an impressive start. Martin is a great athlete, and he uses his speed and route running to create the separation from opposing defensive backs. On Friday night, Martin used that speed to break loose for 2 touchdowns against Aledo. The Denton Guyer wide receiver is just getting warmed up and he has the potential to put up some big numbers this season.

Trevor Ham-Quarterback-Melissa-2024

The Melissa team is one that has plenty of talented prospects to keep an eye on this season. Trevor Ham had a strong outing on Friday night this week. Ham found the end zone numerous times against China Spring. He has great accuracy on deep throws and can hit his wide receivers in stride. Meanwhile, Ham is not afraid to use his legs to extend drives and pick up the yards needed to find the end zone. The Melissa signal caller is a prospect that has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.

Ray Guillory-Running Back-Aledo-2026

Aledo and Denton Guyer put on a classic on Friday night. Aledo running back Ray Guillory put on an impressive rushing display. Guillory is a running back to watch out for over the next couple of seasons for Aledo. He does a great job of finding the rushing lanes and exploding through the holes. Guillory is a tough running back to bring down and he can wiggle out of tackles and make opposing defenders miss. He is a player to watch out for over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='979812' first='Mason' last='Bean']-Running Back-Booker T. Washington-2025

[player_tooltip player_id='979812' first='Mason' last='Bean'] rushed for over 100 yards and found the end zone 2 times on Friday night. In the process, Washington earned the first victory in school history over Austin. Bean is a shifty running back that finds the rushing lanes and makes people miss. Bean has the potential to have a big season and Washington is a team to watch out for over the next few months.
