Kirkwood vs Pattonville: Pioneer Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='126233' first='Zyan' last='Royal'] RB 2024</strong><br>The shifty Royal, who has an offer from Ole Miss and is hearing from Kansas, Kansas State, Northern Illinois and Missouri, was the go to back to help close out the close game against the Pirates and was the Pioneers leading rusher with 52 yards on 13 carries. Yards were hard to come by against the stingy Pattonville defense, but Zyan's quick feet, hips and ability to make yards after contact showing surprising strength were too much to stop as time wound down. He is also a tremendous weapon as a receiver and has very good speed. Schools are looking at him as versatile weapon on the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='285181' first='Larry' last='Robinson'] WR 2025 </strong><br>The 6'3" Robinson wasn't targeted a lot in the game and wound up with 22 yards receiving on his 3 catches. Larry showed his outstanding blocking ability as the Pioneers kept the ball on the ground for the most part. He also did a nice job playing cornerback displaying some nice skills at that position, along with his speed and athleticism to help shut down opposing receivers. The D1 prospect continues to hear from colleges showing interest in his talents. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='275449' first='Creighton' last='Wise'] QB 2024</strong><br>The very athletic Wise did most of his damage on the ground with his legs rushing for 24 yards on 6 carries. He also completed 5 of 13 pass attempts for 46 yards. Creighton is a versatile athlete that colleges are recruiting for his athleticism and likely see him as a receiver on the next level, although he could also play QB or defensive back. His leadership and experience helped keep Kirkwood in the game and make a comeback after being behind late in the game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Carson Lindquist LB 2026 </strong><br>The junior linebacker had a monster game and was seemingly everywhere on defense. His stats were 21tackles and 3 sacks as a one man wrecking crew. Carson is like a heat seeking missile from his linebacker position and plays with tenacity and means business on contact. The 5'10" 190 Lindquist plays much bigger then his size and flies to the ball. He reads plays and uses a good football IQ to be in the right place at the right time. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Marcus Tatum DT 2024 </strong><br>Tatum did a really nice job plugging the middle of the defense and taking on Pirate interior offensive linemen. The 6'2' 265lb NG/DT moves well nd showed good strength in the trenches. He also has the quickness and speed to be disruptive in the backfield and blow up plays. Marcus finished the game with 4 total tackles but was more impactful then the stat sheet indicates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='126236' first='Kylan' last='Wallace'] LB 2024 </strong><br>Kylan is another very active and physical Pioneer linebacker that helped to keep this a low scoring game. He pulls double duty sometimes playing running back but did his damage on the defensive side of the ball with 6 total tackles and a sack. He has been contributing on varsity since he was a freshman and his experience shows. Wallace uses his speed and athleticism well to cover a lot of ground and make plays. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
