Mj Campbell Mj Campbell 6'0" | 230 lbs | DL Decatur Central | 2024 State IN – Decatur Central – 6’1″ 240lbs – 2024
Mj came out and had a fantastic night. I’m using his first name here because as you saw by the picture, his brother is also in this piece. They were both fantastic and made an impact across the board. Mj was explosive off the line and was hard to slow down. They made a point to double him early and trying to erase him from the gameplan, yet it didn’t quite hold up. Campbell is creative with how he wins at the line. Straight strength or a mixture of finesse and wiggle. He was able to make 6 tackles, 2 TFLs, and have a sack on the night. The defense got gashed early, but with some adjustments and freeing up MJ, they slowed the Mooresville offense down and completed a come-from-behind win on the road. I’m a big fan of MJ and seeing him play live was great.

Mykul Campbell Mykul Campbell 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Decatur Central | 2026 State IN – Decatur Central – DB – 6’1″ 190lbs – 2026
Mykul is going to be a star. He’s got that same hunger and anger his brother plays with but is a much smoother and leaner athlete. Where Mj is a thicker body who is great at dominating with physical play, Mykul flies all over the field making plays. He’s versatile, asked to do a bunch of different things, and came through in every way on Friday. First off, Decatur Central’s first TD of the night was capped off with a 2 PT conversion catch from Campbell off of a fake. Mykul then later blocked a punt which was returned for a TD and put Decatur Central on top. He also had a handful of tackles and got a sack late in the game. If I recall correctly, he also batted down a ball that would have been good for 6. Nonetheless, an awesome performance by Mykul and should put him on the map, because he’s the real deal.

Aaron Davis Aaron Davis 6'6" | 285 lbs | DL Decatur Central | 2024 State IN – Decatur Central – 6’5″ 285lbs – 2024
Davis was the most impressive-looking recruit on the field all things considered. He was consistent upfront and has a massive frame so he obviously stands out. He was able to individually clog the interior and help allow the dawgs outside to feast. He’s got incredibly strong hands and manhandled the Center more than a few times. He threw some offensive lineman around like a ragdoll at one point. He’s not just big and dominated people, but he also made plays. He was able to create a few TFLs and get behind the LOS. He’s obviously someone you want near the center and understands what he can do with his frame. I really appreciated Davis’s effort on the field Friday. NT isn’t the sexy position, but having an elite one goes such a long way for a defense and Davis has the potential to be just that on Saturdays.

Hunter Bennett Hunter Bennett 6'4" | 205 lbs | DL Mooresville | 2024 State IN – Mooresville – DL – 6’4″ 205lbs – 2024
Bennett was someone who was once on the fast track to being one of the top recruits in the state. A knee injury cut his season short last year and left schools wondering if he’d return to form. Well, from my observation from Friday was that he looks pretty good. He’s come a long way not just in his rehab, but on his build as well. He’s starting to put muscle on and it was paying off on the field Friday. He was able to win to the inside and get off 1 on 1 blocks. Decatur Central made it a point to check away from him and roll to the opposite side of where Bennett was. They didn’t want him impacting the game, which is the ultimate compliment. The only problem is, Bennett left the night with 7 tackles and 1 TFL. He may have been ripped out of a sack where they said the QB got back to the line, but I still don’t think he did. Either way, it was great to see Bennett on the field and playing at 100%. If he can continue to develop the current track he’s on, he’s going to be just fine long-term.
