The senior running back only needed 6 carries to tally 132 yards and 1 touchdown where he raced 72 yards down the Penn Yan/Dundee sideline untouched for a Geneva touchdown. Lawson also took a fake punt and went 34 yards to pick up a Geneva 1st down on 4th and 4 in their own territory. On defense Lawson combined to have 2 tackles and a forced fumble.

Rey DeJesus the senior starting quarterback for Geneva took control of the game early on using his legs. While DeJesus only mustard 61 yards passing on 3 of 9 attempts, he picked up 61 yards rushing and 3 rushing touchdowns and a pair of 2 point conversions with his legs accounting for 22 of Geneva points and 122 total yards of offense.
The 5’11” senior WR/DB made several big plays all night long against Penn Yan/Dundee. Bruce got the night started with a punt return that saw the senior zig zag sideline to sideline all the way inside of Penn Yan/Dundee’s 5 yard line, for a 61 yard punt return. DeSean also picked off Penn Yan/Dundee quarterbacks twice with one resulting in a 65 yard pick six, and his second interception came when Penn Yan/Dundee threatened to score late in the 4th quarter, but Bruce ended those thoughts with his second interception of the game in the back of the end zone.
The 5’11” 200 pound inside linebacker had a big night for the Geneva defense to open the 2023 season. Velazquez had several bone crushing hits on Penn Yan/Dundee ball carriers and quarterbacks while racking up 8 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 2 sacks on the night for the stud sophomore.
Highlights
The 6’3″ junior TE/OLB racked up 3 tackles and 1 interception, which came on the first offensive possession for Penn Yan/Dundee. On offense Praylor hauled in 2 passes for 18 yards with one of those catches being a 2 point conversion late in the first quarter.
The Prep Red Zone Next 2027 National Watch list member started at CB for the Geneva Panther defense and racked up 3 tackles and 1 forced fumble on the night in his first varsity action.
