OLB: Emerson Joy, 6’7″ 220, University of Alberta
Joy’s size is overwhelming at the point of attack, his long arms allow him to apply a highly effective push-pull move and his strides allow for him to cover a ton of ground tracking down ball carriers. He plays with a high motor, can quickly detach from blocks, and can generate knockback in the run game to cause immediate disruption. His swim move is compact & potent, he shows instant acceleration and will get his arms up to swat away a pass if he can’t get to the quarterback. I’m surprised more schools in the United States haven’t made a run at this kid, he’s got the size and production you want in an edge rusher.
ATH: Cedrick McLaughlin, 5’8″ 165, Mathieu-Martin
Noticeable production last fall, totaling 1,938 yards and 17 touchdowns. Cedrick has the patience to let his blocks set up, he’s an explosive return man who can bust a game wide-open and has the build-up speed to run away from the defense. He’s got plenty of shake in the open, is an aggressive perimeter blocker, and can stop & start instantaneously. He’s fun to watch on film and has game-breaking type ability.
OLB: Everett Draudson Everett Draudson 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB Bellerose Composite | 2024 State CAD , 6’1″ 195, Bellerose
Draudson diagnoses a run and quickly triggers, he’s got a good first step, sudden change of direction, and can fight off blocks of much bigger offensive linemen. He’s quite slithery on games and uses his speed as a weapon to catch his opponents with poor technique. He’s an absolute mismatch against backs in pass protection, he plays bigger than his listed weight and has the effort to make tackles on the backside of runs.
QB: Tyler Sims, 6’3″ 205, Bellerose Composite
Sims has excellent size for the position, poise, he throws with anticipation and has terrific touch throwing on the run. He can expedite his release against the blitz and is willing to stand in there with immediate danger incoming. He’s outstanding pre-snap and can identify potential mismatches & has the arm strength to zing the football in through smaller windows.
