Continue ReadingIdoma is excelling at his new linebacker position this season. He’s playing fast and aggressive, making more plays than ever. He’s leading 4A west in tackles with 29, 14 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles and 1 sack in 4 games. His value to this defense increased now that he has a year of playing defensive line and now having a great start of the year at backer. In his last game against Seneca Valley, he flew around for 8 tackles and a blocked punt. Look for Idoma to continue to step up and be another weapon on the wildcat defense.
Mcintosh has been having one heck of a start, already with 3 defensive touchdowns. He’s had a 90-yard interception return, a 50-yard interception, and a 20-yard fumble return for a touchdown. He recently received an offer from Alabama State University, and after word gets out of his great start expect to see him gain a few more offers this season. Look out for Mcintosh to gain some power 5 offers if this high level of play continues.
Keys was projected to be a front runner in his class and has done nothing but prove it right. This is his first year on the varsity level and he’s looking like a veteran. Keys has already had a handful of explosive plays showing off his breakaway speed and 1 on 1 deep ball threat. DeMatha has gotten him the ball in the passing and rushing game and he’s dangerous as a return man with 1 punt returned for a touchdown.
Berry is a young athlete who’s making his presence known amongst varsity competition. Out of 8th grade Berry was wanted by almost every program in the DMV and decided to attend episcopal in VA. At Episcopal he showed that he can compete at a high level and be as dominant as his counterparts. Over the summer he put on a show at the NXGN Elite showcase in Delaware where he won Oline MVP and earned a ticket to “The Show” showcase in Atlanta. With the Geals he picked up where he left off and his grabbing his fair share of pancakes.
He has 62 completions out of 81 attempts and is leading the state in passing yards with 1,243 and in passing touchdowns with 12. Randall threw 3 touchdowns in each of his 4 games leading northern to a 4-0 start with over 40 points in each game. As a leading passer this early in the season you’d think Randall was a pocket passer, but he has the wheels to outrun defenders for huge plays. In his game against LaPlata Isaiah had a few deep balls, three passing TDs and 70- yard rushing touchdown to give him 2 rushing touchdowns on the day. With numbers like these he will be one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the state. Keep an eye out for Randall and Northern to make another playoff run.
