Tyler kicked off the 2023 football season the same way he ended the 2022 season, in style! While Martinovich didn’t have a great night completion percentage wise only connecting on 50 percent of his passes going 7 of 14 for 72 yards through the air. And added 2 passing touchdowns to boot. On top of his passing performance Martinovich carried the ball 4 times for 38 yards to account for 110 total yards on the night.
Highlights
The Bruins starting running back opened the season with a bang! Ripping off sizzling run after run displaying good contact balance and shiftiness. Those runs led to Parks rushing for 128 yards on 13 carries and 2 rushing touchdowns on the night for the Brighton Bruins, posting an impressive yards per carry average of 9.8.

The Brighton Bruins junior made plays on both sides of the ball Thursday evening. Lian toted the rock 8 times for 61 yards boasting a 7,6 yards per carry average and added 1 rushing touchdown on opening night. Jayden also recorded 1 interception for the Bruins defense.
Arguably one of the top Tight End prospects in Section V and all of Upstate New York. The 6’4″ 200 pound senior had a relatively quite night posted only 2 catches for 26 yards. But Welker did add a touchdown for the Brighton Bruins on the night in which the Bruins won easily over rebuilding Wilson Magnet.

Snyder the senior defensive back and wide receiver for the Brighton Bruins hauled in 1 reception for 15 yards but it resulted in a touchdown for the Bruins.

Matthew Heininger
The 6’0″ 190 pound sophomore stud linebacker for Brighton had an active night in the blowout win over the Wildcats. Heininger who’s older brother plays on the offensive line at the University at Buffalo was credited with 5 tackles and 1 sack on the night to lead the Bruins defense. And started his 2023 campaign on the right track that could see him make an appearance in the 2026 New York Rankings.

Kickers don’t normally get a lot of love in the recruiting media world. The Brighton Bruins have a formidable kicking game thanks to Moiseiev who connected on 5 of 6 of his extra points and went 2 for 2 on field goals of 30 yards and 33 yards on the night for the Bruins.
