Who says that a freshman can't be identified as a potential breakout star? We have identified a few more young players from the class of 2027 who are making plays beyond their years. Let's take a look at a few of these athletes and find out why they stand a cut above the rest...

Wesley Turner I 2027 I OL I 6'1 240 I Conroe

Wesley Turner is a broad-shouldered offensive lineman who can play guard or center. He has nimble feet and keeps his hips down and pads up. In other words, he is a knee bender when in stance and in motion. This allows Turner to maintain leverage through the echo of the whistle. Turner currently is a starter at the center position and quarterbacks the front five with protection calls. The big 6'1 240-pound frame along with his ability to move well with leverage makes his future projections go through the roof.

[player_tooltip player_id='1865903' first='Jaiden' last='Cotton'] I 2027 I ATH I Lake Ridge

Jaiden "JC" Cotton is a smooth one cut style running back. He is patient in his running style and possesses the running maturity that allows the blocking to develop before bursting from cloudy to clear. Cotton is also a weapon out of the backfield with his soft hands and yards after catch ability. Look for Cotton to rack up the all-purpose yardage for Lake Ridge this season and go into the offseason on many programs' radars. Camp season will prove lucrative for this athlete's skillset.

[player_tooltip player_id='1561270' first='Tre' last='Moore'] I 2027 I WR I 6'1 180 I Weiss

[player_tooltip player_id='1561270' first='Tre' last='Moore'] is a beast of a receiver and already has collegiate size. Moore's highlights start off with him blocking a defensive back and sending him flying with just one sudden double-handed punch. The big receiver looks effortless when running routes, getting in and out of breaks, and high pointing the ball. Moore looks to take everything to the house and plays the game at a fast and violent pace. Many college programs will soon be impressed with the same tape and athlete. This kid is special...

[player_tooltip player_id='721674' first='Cayden' last='Williams'] I 2027 I ATH I 6'0 175 I Conroe

[player_tooltip player_id='721674' first='Cayden' last='Williams'] passes the eye test and keeps popping up on the radar as a powerfully built freshman athlete who currently starts at quarterback for his program (averaging 3 touchdowns per contest). He is a legit 6'0 175 muscular athlete who also will come down hill and strike from the defensive back or linebacker position. This kid has great top end speed and can commonly be seen running over a defensive back on a scramble play. He can make all the throws and has recorded a max throw of 47 yards recently at quarterback guru JP Tillman's "Quarterbacks for Christ" camp in Willis, Texas. Whether at quarterback in the future or defensive back, Williams looks to be one heck of an athlete and recruit.

Brandon Smith Jr I 2027 I DB/RB I 5'8 170 I Bellaire

Brandon Smith is touchdown personified! Smith Jr. has great size for a freshman and possesses amazing start-stop ability. His top end speed is ahead of his peers and the tape shows the break away potential he presents on a down by down basis. Whether at running back or defensive back, this kid has instincts for the big play. Smith Jr. thrives in the return game as well with his keen field vision and ability to run behind his pads. It will take a lot for Smith Jr. to not be called up to the next level soon if he continues to dominate other freshman programs in the manner he has to date.
