Continue ReadingAt the top of my list is Montavin Quisenberry Montavin Quisenberry 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Boyle County | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-9, 160-pound athlete at Boyle County High School. In five contests with the Rebels, Quisenberry has thrown two completions for 80 yards and one score, collected 19 rush attempts for 198 yards and seven scores and hauled in 11 receptions for 321 yards and four scores. On the other side, Quisenberry holds 26 total tackles, including 13 solo stops, 13 assisted takedowns and four tackles for loss. Quisenberry also forced one fumble and caught an interception. Quisenberry’s playstyle stands out because of his awareness on both sides, showcasing his quickness off the snap, ability to escape the defense and his ability to continuously be disruptive defensively down the stretch.
I am additionally impressed with Antonio Harris Antonio Harris 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Louisville Male | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 170-pound athlete at Louisville Male High School. In five games with the Bulldogs this year, Harris has picked up one rush attempt for eight yards as well as four receptions for 56 yards. On the other side, Harris has recorded six total tackles, including five solo stops and one assisted takedown. Harris impresses me with his explosiveness and ability to use his physical edge to his advantage on both sides of the ball. Another aspect of Harris that stands out is his ability to maneuver the field, handle contact and blast offensive playmakers with his defensive toughness.
Highlights
Claiming the number three spot is Darius Akal Darius Akal 6'0" | 155 lbs | ATH Harlan | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 155-pound athlete at Harlan High School. In five contests with the Green Dragons, Akal has collected 94 rush attempts for 362 yards and three touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Akal has recorded 13 total tackles, including 10 solo stops, three assisted takedowns and two tackles for loss. What makes Akal such an efficient weapon is his overall athleticism and versatile edge, blasting the opposition with his ability to escape the pocket and rush into the backfield with his quickness and durability. I’m also fond of how Akal can read the offense and shut down offensive playmakers.
Another skilled prospect to watch for is Kory Combs Kory Combs 6'0" | 210 lbs | ATH Breathitt County | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 210-pound athlete at Breathitt County High School. In five contests with the Bobcats, Combs has recorded eight rush attempts for 64 yards and three touchdowns as well as two receptions for 10 yards. On defense, Combs picked up 41 total tackles, including 28 solo stops, 13 assisted takedowns and two tackles for loss. Combs also forced one fumble and made one fumble recovery. I like how Combs utilizes his quickness off the snap, using deceptive footwork to blast past the defense into the open field as well as outplay defensive backs with his physicality down the stretch. Combs also proved himself as relentless defensively due to his ability to read the offense and shut down the passing game.
Coming in at number five on my list is Quinten Wooten Quinten Wooten 5'7" | 155 lbs | ATH Collins | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-7, 155-pound athlete at Collins High School. In five games with the Titans, Wooten has made two rush attempts and hauled in 11 receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown. Wooten has also contributed defensively, collecting nine total tackles on his own. In addition to his ability to stay locked in on both sides of the ball, I like Wooten’s breakaway speed and ability to outplay defensive backs down the stretch with his footwork and aggression. I’m also fond of how Wooten attacks the offense, applies pressure and makes crucial stops.
