2023 Mississippi 8th Grade State Title

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This game was full of dogs. Both teams had a lot of talent on hand. Tupelo was able to pull this game out in overtime. The final score was 30-28. We were able to see some very great players. It was great to see this game come down to the wire.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Tupelo</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1006384' first='Tyson' last='Hunter'] was lights out on the field today. He definitely was the player of the game. He had 3 TDs and kickoff returned for a touchdown that was called back. Hunter also scored the game tying touchdown and scored the game winning two-point conversion. He was running the ball with ease tonight. Hunter is a big kid that also has some great speed. He is going to be a top ranked player in this 2028 class. You do not see players like him on an everyday basis.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='466477' first='Max' last='Williams'] was another guy from Tupelo that had a very great game today. He is another player that stepped up big today. He made a lot of plays on both sides of the football for Tupelo tonight. I think that this kid does a great job when he is on the defensive side of the football. Williams is going to continue to get bigger and taller. If he keeps up the good movements, then he will be just fine. I think that he is going to be a defensive end or linebacker on the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I think that both of these kids deserve to have college coaches already checking them out. They both are players that have a lot of upsides.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Louisville</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='447349' first='Zaiden' last='Jernigan'] had a very good game today. Him and Hunter are similar kind of players. That both are very big kids that have good speed. Jernigan is a kid that also has great vision. When he sees a hole, he knows how to attack that hole and make things happen. This game came down to the wire because he put Louisville on his back in the third quarter. This is a kid that is going to be a big name in the 2028 class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This game today was played with a lot of heart. [player_tooltip player_id='1022134' first='Trevion' last='Glenn'] was another player from Louisville that was out there laying it on the line. [player_tooltip player_id='1022113' first='Aubrey' last='Welch'] from Louisville was also a dog today. He had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. We can expect to hear all of the kids' names who are mentioned in this article a lot in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
