This article will outline the best defensive performances I noticed from last night!

DE/EDGE | Brandon Davis-Swain Brandon Davis-Swain 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI | Hudl
Brandon was unblockable on all passing downs. The CV O-Line is no joke, but he was shoving linemen overall game. Brandon’s official stat line may not be incredible since the opposing QB was getting the ball out so quick, but Brandon was surely making his presence felt. I don’t think I’ve seen a performance so dominant yet effortless-looking than Brandon’s. I must say, I didn’t love the effort on run plays.
ILB| Kari Jackson Kari Jackson 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI | Hudl
When Kari was on the field, he was making plays. I believe he came out later in the game with an injury, but he was stellar up until that point. West Bloomfield decided to blitz quite a bit, and Kari was the first one in the backfield much of the time. There were several plays where Kari correctly read the play and shot himself out of a cannon to get to the ballcarrier. He’s everything that was advertised on film, and there’s no question he’s deserving of all of his division 1 offers and Penn State commitment.
There were times when Kari was going so fast he’d overshoot the ball carrier in the backfield, though that’s a good problem to have in High School ball. Overall, I also thought the West Bloomfield LBs, including Kari were a bit too aggressive at times, sometimes plugging themselves up in a gap. This was also a natural product of the blitz-heavy scheme.
DT | Kamari Pittman Kamari Pittman 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL West Bloomfield | 2026 State MI | Hudl
Kamari, a sophomore, is going to be a major problem in the OAA Red. This was a guy I hadn’t heard about until yesterday, and let me tell you, he showed Divison 1 upside. There were multiple instances where Kamari showed great power, oftentimes driving back the opposing offensive linemen. I need to watch more film to see how he does against the run and of his overall consistency, but I absolutely love what I’ve seen from #53 so far.
(excuse the ladder tweet. first tweet is Kamari)
LB | A’Shawn Adams | Hudl
#33 for Chippewa Valley had himself a good game. His reaction time, reads, and coverage were good, and he racked up a good amount of tackles. An added quickness would help Adams, but he’s definitely a great big school Linebacker who can cover some ground.
DE | Collin Sturgeon Collin Sturgeon 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Chippewa Valley | 2024 State MI | Hudl
While CV only rushed 3 most of the game, Collin was the only player who produced pressure. While being double-teamed much of the game, Collin was not able to produce much. Though, like all great pass rushers, Collin had his clutch moment where he got a sack in the final minutes. Collin was one of those guys who had a great offseason and is bound to get more college attention soon.
(Again, ignore the ladder tweet)
