Chase Jameson – Lanier
A big-time playmaker and one of the better athletes on the team, Jameson had a monster opening performance against South Forsyth where he caught eight passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns.Two touchdowns came on an inside post where he made a nice cut down the field and found the ball as he crossed the end-zone. On his third touchdown, Jameson caught a quick pass and took it the rest of the way, eluding multiple defenders along the way. He’s a threat down the field, but the 6-foot-1 185-pounder showed he can do a lot more. He’s dangerous after the catch and shows the ability to create separation. A smooth runner with dependable hands, Jameson was a go-to target in the Longhorn passing attack and may not slow down anytime soon. He’s an underrated receiver in Gwinnett County bound for a possible giant season as a senior this fall.
One of the top young receivers not only in South Georgia, Blackshear is a Benedictine transfer who made an immediate impact for Calvary Day in week one of the season. In a big 49-8 win over Islands, Blackshear was an easy target in the passing game, catching five passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. The Savannah native has plenty of size and length at 6-foot-2 190-pounds and flashed D1 talent throughout the game. He’s quick, explosive, and has a knack for finding the end-zone. He’s coming off a big off-season where he saw him recruitment take off, earning offers from Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, among others. He’s one of the top overall playmakers in the Savannah area and bound for a massive junior season this year.
One of the top wide receivers in Atlanta, Grice is an explosive playmaker who checks plenty of boxes at wide receiver. At 6-foot-1 80-pounds, Grice is a tremendous two-sport athlete with plenty of speed and natural playmaking ability. He showed it off during the season opener, catching just three passes, but taking them 154 yards with two touchdowns. He’s a big play machine, and he helped lead Woodward Academy to an impressive 45-8 win over Trinity Christian. He continues to improve on his big junior season last year where he caught 50 passes for 910 yards and a team-leading 11 touchdown receptions. An impressive route-runner, Grice also showed he’s capable of taking off for big yards after the catch. He also bring strong, dependable hands to the table. He’s currently committed to play at Wake Forest.
Landon Dolhancyk – McIntosh
A tremendous athlete and a current Navy commitment, Dolhancyk got his senior season off to an outstanding start, catching passes all night long during a 37-24 win over Fayette County. A reliable go-top weapon in the passing game, the senior has a big frame at 6-foot-4 180-pounds. He plays big and can be tough for opposing defenders to cover him, especially down the field. He caught an eye-opening 10 passes against Fayette County for 153 yards and one touchdown. Only 16 passes were completed, and 10 of them went to Dolhancyk. It’s safe to say he’ll be seeing plenty of passes coming his way throughout the 2023 season.
