After watching the film, I’m excited to watch it play out and have found 4 DL’s worth keeping an eye on for this upcoming season.
Kyrin Coleman Kyrin Coleman 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Pope John Paul II | 2026 TN is a versatile edge player at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds out of Pope John Paul II High School. He has experience playing defensive end and off-ball linebacker. Great lateral range, Coleman flies around the field and shows a great first step. Very good hand usage, he wins his gap responsibility with quality technique and athletic ability. Coleman is dominant at the point of attack with good play strength. Great hustle and angles to the ball carriers, he is comfortable playing in space to finish tackles.
J.R. Fowler J.R. Fowler 6’1″ | 235 lbs | DL Knoxville Catholic | 2026 TN is a disruptive defensive lineman with good alignment versatility at 6-foot tall, 220 pounds out of Knoxville Catholic High School. Good read of run concepts, he is very disruptive with the athletic ability and nice processing ability. Good active hand usage, Fowler fights to regain positioning and understands his leverage. Good at resetting the line of scrimmage with good power and technique. Excellent vs pullers, Fowler quickly reacts and makes plays in the backfield and is a strong tackler.

Yahya Gaad Yahya Gaad 6’4″ | 235 lbs | DL South Gibson | 2026 TN showcases good athletic ability with a good build at 6-foot-4, 235 pounds out of South Gibson High School. Good competitive toughness, he plays with high effort and has a very good work ethic. Excellent feel to follow pullers, Gaad creates disruption and chaos in the backfield with very good burst to get up field. Active player vs the run and the pass, he shows solid hands and a high motor when creating disruption.
Jaden Hudgins Jaden Hudgins 6’1″ | 230 lbs | DL McCallie | 2026 TN -Key is a high motor defensive tackle at 6-foot-1, 230 pounds out of McCallie High School. He displays very good core strength and stays active to maintain his run fit. Good hand usage, he is quite good vs the run and will dominate offensive lineman with very good technique and play strength. Good working vs double teams and he plays with solid leverage and pad level. Constantly in the backfield, he is disruptive and shows solid lateral range to chase down the line of scrimmage.
