With just over seven minutes left in the third quarter, the Bingham Miners trailed the top team in the country, The Mater Dei Monarchs, 35-0. Bingham was desperate for a play and couldn’t get anything going offensively, so Swensen stepped up and made the play of the game on special teams. He returned a kick 79 yards to the house for the Miner’s first score of the game. Swensen displayed exceptional vision and shiftiness as he made multiple Monarchs miss on his way to the end zone.
Asher Gubler || K || 5’9 || 150 || Olympus High School || 2025
Gubler has been one of the top kickers in the state. His four made field goals are tied for first amongst all placekicker. Gubler has also drilled seven extra points and has stepped up in multiple big moments in 2023. Last week against Provo, he scored the team’s first six points, but his potential game-winning field goal was blocked. In week three against Bountiful, Gubler once again got the scoring started with a field goal in the third quarter. He would get another chance to be the hero when presented with a potential game-winning kick from 38 yards out, and he drilled it to give the Titans a 13-10 win.
Christan Miller || ATH || 6’2 || 197 || Salem Hills High School || 2024
Miller has been Magnificent for Salem Hils through three games. He’s accounted for 16 of the Sky Hawks’ points in 2023, with four field goals and extra points. Three of those field goals came against Maple Mountain, where the Sky Hawks handed the Golden Eagles their first loss of the season. His first was drilled from 42 yards, with the latter two being knocked in from the 38 and 20 yards. Miller also had two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown to help Salem Hills improve to 2-1.

Farmington was trialing Skyridge 34-10 and needed a big play to generate some momentum going into halftime. They got that play from their star running back, Travis Hoopes Travis Hoopes 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Farmington | 2025 State UT . With 40 seconds remaining in the first half, Hoopes fielded a kick of 96 yards away from the end zone. Scoring a touchdown seemed improbable, but the Junior back was too fast for the Falcons. He used his exceptional vision and burst to find gaps in the Falcon’s kickoff coverage and burned them for the long score.
