Zechariah Owens Zechariah Owens 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Glendale | 2024 State AZ , Glendale ’24
Owens is a division 1 talent that brings a ton of tools to the table and right now, looks like the most dangerous QB in 4A. Excellent frame at 6’3″ 180lbs and will only continue to get stronger. Huge threat in the run game as he possesses solid top end speed and vision to be a threat for a house call anytime he takes off. His running ability has defenses scared that if they play too aggressive, Owens will sit back and dice them up with his arm. Overall a very impressive all around athlete with a huge upside here in 2023 to have a monster senior season.
Camar Lee Camar Lee 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Mountain Pointe | 2026 State AZ , Sierra Linda ’26
Lee started for Sierra Linda last year as a freshman and showed a ton of potential, and I think he is about to make that leap heading into his sophomore year. Very mature kid for his age with a tremendous upside as a dual threat QB for the next 3 seasons. Lee threw for 1,947 yards and 15 TD’s last season. He’ll have to do a better job at making decisions and taking care of the football to limit those INT’s, but I expect that to come with maturity. Espace artist ability with good arm strength and progressing control, as he seemed to get better each week.
Braesen Leon Braesen Leon 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Marcos De Niza | 2024 State AZ , Marcos de Niza ’24
Leon had a huge Jr. season in 2022, throwing for 2,299 yards and 32 TD’s with just 4 INT’s. He also added 256 yards and 5 TD’s on the ground for MDN. Leon sizes up with a sturdy 6’1″ 180lb frame and possesses a strong football IQ. He’s one of, if not the best deep ball passer in the state in the 4A conference, as he does a terrific job moving safeties with his eyes and possesses really good arm strength to stretch the field vertically with great placement. Flashed some playmaker ability to pull the ball down and make plays with his feet as well, as his stock should make a massive incline sometime here soon.
Phillip Jones II Phillip Jones II 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Mesquite | 2024 State AZ , Mesquite ’24
Jones is a hard working kid that is doing everything he needs to be doing to get his recruitment rolling, and is well deserving of a look. Dual threat ability as he does a great job extending plays or picking up chunks of yards. Live arm with solid arm strength, and he does a great job with timing and ball placement to put it only where his WR’s can get it, flashing the ability to throw receivers open. He’s been hitting strides and progressing super fast, as he was also one of the top performers at our Prep Redzone Northern California showcase. Looking for a big 2023 season from Jones.
Gabriel Smith Gabriel Smith 5'9" | 175 lbs | QB Walden Grove | 2024 State AZ , Walden Grove ’24
Smith had a big year and put himself on the map in AZ in 2022, throwing for 2591 yards and 27 TD’s in a 10 game span. He displays a really good pocket presence as he looks calm, cool and collected on all throws. Excellent control with his arm with the ability to hit all three levels of throws under pressure. I really like his composure and toughness as he’s not rattled while anticipating taking a hit. I think Smith could very well have a breakout senior campaign and end up being a highly talked about kid by the middle of this season.
