<p>When looking at the tiers of high school football powerhouse states, I don't think many would disagree that Texas, California, Florida and Georgia are above the rest. However, at the very top of the second tier of football states would be Ohio. The three C's of Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus are major hubs in the Buckeye State for producing football talent, followed by Akron and Toledo. There's a nice mix of public and private school powerhouses in the state, with all prospects gettin an opportunity to show what they can do in the heart of BIG10 country.</p>

<p>For some of the class of 2027 athletes, they will be getting their first taste of high school ball in just a few short weeks. For others, that extra year is already being utilized. Prep Redzone Next is here to help shine a light on some of the freshmen to know about in Ohio this upcoming season.</p>

<p>Not all will play varsity right away, and some of the athletes below may have already peaked athletically in football. On the other hand, there may be (probably will be) glaring omissions from the list below–and that's the beauty of it. <strong>This is a Watchlist </strong>based off athletes we have either <strong>watched</strong> on film or seen in person during their pre-high school careers.</p>
