The 2023 season in the state of Missouri kicked off with the number one and number two teams in the state facing off on Friday. Both teams feature multiple D1 prospects with offers, and have up and coming players who will soon earn offers of their own. Here is a look at some of the top offensive standout on both Liberty North and Lee's Summit North.

LEE'S SUMMIT NORTH

[player_tooltip player_id='177938' first='Isaiah' last='Mozee'] | 2025 | WR |
Mozee has clearly spent a lot of time in the weight room in the offseason. He had 3 catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. His lone TD showed the strength he has added as he broke 3-4 tackles and hit top speed afterwards for the score. He has also worked to improve his already good speed he has in the offseason. He's bigger, stronger and faster then when he broke out as a national recruit. He also does a good job blocking and looks ready for a monster junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='185373' first='Elijah' last='Leonard'] | 2024 | QB |
The senior signal-caller did a great job on the night despite facing a lot of pressure. Elijah was 9 of 13 for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown rushing. He really looks good in the role of starter and not having to split time at quarterback, He has great size and mobility at 6'3" 215 and can keep plays alive long enough to find an open receiver or tuck the ball and pick up big chucks of yardage with his legs. He's physical enough to pick up tough yards as with his rushing touchdown. Leonard also has a nice delivery and shows good accuracy.

[player_tooltip player_id='230439' first='Tanner' last='Howes'] | 2024 | RB |
Howes is a great weapon for the Broncos to have. While he was limited to 17 yards rushing on 6 carries due to a tough Eagles run defense, Howes is also a receiving threat, and managed to have 64 yards receiving on 3 receptions, and scored an important touchdown that gave momentum to the Broncos at an important time. Tanner is a tough runner between the tackles, and despite not being a big back plays like he is 220lbs and doesn't shy away from contact. He also has surprising speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1125417' first='William' last='Ray'] | 2026 | WR |
The sophomore Ray had highlight 39 yard catch that should have gone for a 50 yard touchdown, however, the refs said he stepped out of bounds before reaching the end zone. I was impressed with what I saw of him at camp as a freshman and saw he had the ability to an outstanding player going forward. Now he looks like he can be a major contributor the rest of the season as he gains more experience.

[player_tooltip player_id='1118443' first='Quade' last='Chatmon'] | 2025 | RB |
Chatmon only had a few carries, but he averaged 6.5 yards per run, and deserves a mention because of the ability he does possess. He's a bigger back at 6'0" and around 200lbs, but has nice speed and good hips and can defenders miss.

LIBERTY NORTH

[player_tooltip player_id='185385' first='Jacorey' last='Love'] | 2024 | RB/Slot |
Love showed his big play ability on offense, defense and especially on special teams. He is clearly a player who needs more touches and to be targeted in space to make something good happen for his team more often. His biggest play came on a 95 yard kick off return, but the speed and vision he showed on that play is something he is capable of doing from behind the line of scrimmage carrying or catching it out of the backfield at running back or in the slot. He only got two carries, but on his 2 receptions he went for 50 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='590658' first='Tillman' last='Martin'] | 2025 | QB |
The junior played his first varsity game as the starter and did a solid job. Tillman finished the night 19 of 32 for 244 yards and 0 TDs. This despite facing constant pressure, and his receivers dropping some catchable balls, and having difficulty getting open. Martin has good size and a strong arm. He is also pretty athletic and has good mobility and can throw on the run. The Broncos may be the best defense he faces all year, so expect him to have even better showings the rest of the way.

Theo Gibson | 2024 | WR |
A surprise on the night was senior receiver Gibson, who while not as heralded as the other Eagles receivers, had the best night with 4 receptions for 66 yards, a 16.5 yards per catch on the night. Gibson did a nice job running routes and getting open to make himself a target for Martin to find as a reliable option and hit. With his more high profile teammates receiving so much attention look for Gibson to be the beneficiary of it.

[player_tooltip player_id='185382' first='Manny' last='Conley'] | 2024 | OT |
Another senior who stepped up and did a solid job was the 6'4" 295lb Conley, who I have watched for the past three seasons given his size and athleticism. He had the unenviable task of going up against all-everything DE [player_tooltip player_id='185397' first='Williams' last='Nwaneri'] much of the night, and proved himself very capable and held his own, showing his athletic ability and play that colleges will take notice of if it continues throughout the season.
