Jackson Gilbert Jackson Gilbert 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Westfield | 2024 State IN – Westfield – QB – 6’0″ 190lbs – 2024
It’s been quite some time since Gilbert has been building up this breakout, but man oh man. It is here, and he is good! In a game with as much talent on the field, as there was, Gilbert may have been the best player, at least tonight. Nothing bothered him, he was dialed in, and he made all the right reads in the running game. He scored 2 rushing TDs, both in the A gap up the middle. The second rushing TD was the first drive of the second half where he delivered an absolute dime to Aramboles for a big play. The passing TD for Gilbert on the night was to Braun, and that too, was a perfect throw deep over the middle of the field. Westfield started the game 31-0 before pulling its starters against one of the State’s most prominent teams, and Gilbert was a big reason why.

Beau Braun Beau Braun 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Westfield | 2025 State IN – Westfield – WR – 6’2″ 190lbs – 2025
Braun is someone we highlighted heading into the season as a potential breakout candidate. He’s someone who always looked good on JV tape and was lighting up 7 on 7s. Well, I watched that all begin to translate on Fridays underneath the lights last night. First off, he’s got an impressive lengthy frame that is well-built for his age. He’s got fantastic speed and is a deep threat for them. He brought in the first passing TD from Gilbert on the year. While it was a great throw, it was an even better catch. 40+ yards downfield moving full speed, Braun was JUST barely able to bring it in through his fingertips. That catch changed the game. 14-0 after that play, instead of having to punt. All the momentum in that game swung on that play, and Braun came through for Westfield. He made a few other catches throughout the night to stay involved. He was also active in the running game downfield blocking. An impressive game, and a good conversation afterward. He’s humble, wants to keep working, and understands the process of everything. Beau Braun Beau Braun 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Westfield | 2025 State IN is a name you should remember because it’s not going anywhere but to an endzone near you.

Gabriel Aramboles Gabriel Aramboles 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Westfield | 2025 State IN – Westfield – WR – 6’1″ 200lbs – 2025
Aramboles had 2 of my favorite plays of the night. He was on the receiving end of the long bomb down the field to start the second half. He’s fast, good with the double moves, and didn’t show his hands until it was time to bring the ball in. Over the shoulder with ease making it look easy as he was drug down bringing the ball in. He also had the juke where he had a DB right on him in space, stuck his foot in the ground, and with 1 hard cut made the defender look foolish as he picked up another 20+ yards. Between him and Braun, they could develop into an elite duo for the 2025 class. Aramboles is just scratching the surface and should be on more radars immediately.

Mikeah Webster Mikeah Webster 6'1" | 225 lbs | ATH Westfield | 2025 State IN – Westfield – RB/LB – 6’1″ 225lbs – 2025
Webster had one of the biggest plays on the night on the defensive side of the ball where he scored on a fumble recovery in the endzone. He was making plays and was effective at LB, but I wanted to highlight him on offense. He got some carries and Westfield already has an elite back, but they may have found another in Webster. The way he processes the game, makes cuts, and has the size, speed, and strength to handle the ball inside all bode well for him. He’s quick enough to get the edge and pressure defenses there as well. He’s even relatively twitchy and does a good job just anticipating things coming through the hole. Maybe it’s just a hunch, but I was really impressed with how he carried the rock and would love to see him get more opportunities!

Kyler Kropp Kyler Kropp 6'1" | 200 lbs | ATH New Palestine | 2024 State IN – New Palestine – ATH – 6’1″ 200lbs – 2024
On a night when things didn’t go as planned, Kropp was a very bright spot for that team. On offense, they made it a point to get him the ball and make him a focal point. In the running game and the receiving game, he was utilized all over the field. The more touches he got, the better he got. More importantly, I was standing in the end zone the entire game, but you could see the passion he was playing with. At one point, the game was 31-0. It truly felt like New Pal was giving up, but then Kropp did his thing. He busted multiple big plays, got the offense down the field, and they scored a TD. When they got the ball back, Kropp busted a run to the outside, stiff-armed a defender, and hit the gas. 65 yards later, he was in the endzone. The Dragons really began to feed off of him and the energy he provided. It was a bit too late, but to show he can be that guy when things get dark was huge. The team needed a spark, and Kropp gave them some life heading into Week 2.
