Continue ReadingFarragut High School faced off against Powell High School on Friday night and it was one of the most exciting matches of week 2. After going down 14-0 early in the game, Farragut bounced back in the second half to win 28-21 behind their explosive running game. Powell had some good moments in this one but weren’t able to hold onto the lead in the 4th quarter. Following this awesome matchup, here are some of the standouts for Farragut.
Wyatt Drummy Wyatt Drummy 5’11” | 200 lbs | RB Farragut | 2024 TN was the player who initially energized the Farragut offense after the slow start. They leaned on him and Drummy showed good vision, balance, and was fighting for extra yards. Good understanding of leverage and blocking, he showed patience and burst when he would hit the hole. In the third quarter, Drummy tied the game up with a 45-yard touchdown run, where he showed off the vision and burst to change the momentum of the game.

Troy Lockhart
Troy Lockhart was another running back that played really well for the Farragut offense. He scored 2 total touchdowns on the day. The 1st he showed good toughness down on the goal line with nice vision to find the hole with play strength to finish. Lockhart showed good speed and burst to hit the edge for a 74-yard touchdown run at the end of the 3rd quarter. Played consistently all game, Lockhart came in and ripped off chunk runs and was very decisive.
Landis Davila Landis Davila 6’3″ | 195 lbs | WR Farragut | 2024 State TN has been one of the biggest performers for this Farragut team through the 1st 2 weeks of the season. The passing game as a whole had a bit of a slow start but Davila scored the game winning touchdown again. He showed off the excellent body control and tracking of the football. Overall, Davila is a smooth operator and is very comfortable in contested situations. The vertical plane is where he is at his best and he just makes big time plays when it matters most.
Highlights
Jack Alley Jack Alley 6’2″ | 215 lbs | LB Farragut | 2024 State TN proved in this game why he is one of the best linebackers in the 2024 class in Tennessee. He flew around the field to be involved on nearly every tackle. Alley showed good instincts and great physical toughness, laying the wood early and often. He made multiple big plays throughout the game, shooting gaps and closed out the game with a huge tackle for loss. Alley looked like the best player on the field in this game.
Highlights
Offensive line: The Farragut OL deserves a bunch of credit for creating lanes for Drummy and Lockhart. They bullied Powell’s front 7 and created a push on nearly every run play.
