The Founder/Director Steve Martin; stated the camp is in its 3rd year and is strictly grown from word of mouth. There is no registration for this event. The camp brought a collection of athletes from classes of 2024 – 2029 in the New England region and train at Excell Sports Academy on a yearly basis, to an environment to prepare the athletes for the upcoming 2023 fall season.
The prospects Coach Martin focuses on being present at the camp are usually the top-known rising prospects who are projected to be the top future New England regional prospects within their class. Many of these current top regional prospects from all classes train at the Academy and choose to attend the camp. I attended the first-night practice session on August 4, 2023. and was able to observe the following players below that stood out to me at the camp.
RYAN PUGLISI
QB | Avon Old Farms / Georgia Football Commit
Twitter: https://twitter.com/RyanPuglisi5rnPuglisi speical skills were on full display during the first night I attended. The Georgia commit was throwing with great accuracy and power in his throws as he usually does with the special skill set he possesses. He appeared determined and focused on his upcoming senior campaign. His father was also present and stated to me that the senior QB will likely be leaving immediately after his senior season to enroll early at Georgia and be ready for spring ball activities.
rnHe carries himself with confidence and a command presence that had many of the other athletes in attendance taking witness to his high-level skill package.
CO’ 26 ~ Quarterback
Twitter: https://twitter.com/LucarelleJackrnLucarelle is returning to Minnechaug Regional in Massachusetts for his sophomore season after a productive Freshman season on Varsity as the starter. While I was there, he displayed good accuracy when executing his sprint out throws. He is confident with his skills when throwing on the run and at 5’9″ in height, it is likely a technical tool he will use often when taking command of the offense this fall. His performance during the camp earned him the QB MVP honors from the coaching staff.
He is a rising talent that has plenty of time to continue developing his skill set. He is on track and projected for a big sophomore 2023 season.
WR @ Milton Academy | 5’11 | 170lb | 4.44 40 | 3.8 GPA | #1 Slot in New England | 10.9 100m

Kash Kelly Kash Kelly 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Milton Academy | 2026 State New E was a late arrival on the day I was there but took no time to make his presence felt. His quickness and speed when running his routes are an attraction itself. His loose hips and ability to change direction with high level quickness is impressive. He practices and plays with passion and love for the game and it pops in real time. He will be entering as a sophomore for this fall season at Milton Academy and from what I am hearing, the staff is high on him and he should get a break out season of targets. His performance over the weekend impressed the coaches enough t earned him the MVP honors of the camp for WR’s.
Max Baroni
2026| RB/WR|Minnechaug High school| 3.88GPA
Twitter: https://twitter.com/MaxBaroni2rnBaroni is a rising sophomore who saw Varsity time as a freshman last season. His 2022 season film verifies, his playmaking abilities and showed good quickness and field vision when carrying the ball during his freshman season. Some may view him as a bit undersized at 5’7″ but his athletic talent is one that many coaches love. He has obvious quickness combined with good balance and body control. He executes crisp routes as a receiver and he has a very fluid running capability when carrying the ball from the rb position.
C/o 2025, ATH, Springfield Central High School, 5’10, 170lbs, 4.2 gpa
Twitter: https://twitter.com/BarbourMattiasrnBarbour is an exceptional athlete who can play the slot effectively. He is a rising junior who is coming off a sophomore campaign where he flashed his playmaking skills during the 2022 season. During the camp he displayed a work ethic that will help him continue to develop for future college opportunities. He showed a good motor and was always looking for additional reps. He executes crisp routes and knows how to get separation from defenders. He has reliable hands and his field vision once he has the ball is of higher level. He has shown that he can zig zag in and out of traffic to find the open running lanes to the end zone. He frame indicated he his working hard in the off -season and primed for the 2023 season to begin. Look for big things from this athlete this fall.
