We will check back in at the season's end to determine how close you were to predicting the winners.

Class B State Champion

Winner: Scottsbluff - 130 votes

Scottsbluff is a team that has been hungry to get back to the big game after their back-to-back runner-up bids in 2018/19 and falling one game short of heading to the championship last season. They have the talent to compete with any team in Class B, and now it's just a matter of putting it all together come playoff time. The Bearcats should once again feature one of the top running games in Class B with bruising back [player_tooltip player_id='245849' first='Sebastien' last='Boyle']. They also feature key returning players on defense, including [player_tooltip player_id='245880' first='Cord' last='Symons'], [player_tooltip player_id='250424' first='Carter' last='Reisig'], and several others. Once they find their answer at QB and fill out the OL, this will be a team ready to dominate in Class B.

2nd Place: Bennington - 122 votes

3rd Place: Waverly - 93 votes

Preseason Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='245849' first='Sebastien' last='Boyle'] - RB - Scottsbluff - 208 votes

Hudl | Twitter

The feature back for one of the toughest running games in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='245849' first='Sebastien' last='Boyle'], is back to continue punishing defenses. Sebastien is coming off a spectacular junior year, in which he ran for 1,926 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns and further cemented himself as the top back in the 2024 cycle. Boyle has consistently shown a great mix of power and speed in his runs. He can pound away at defenses when running between the tackles and he has the homerun speed if he's able to find the open field. Strong, great vision, and proven production. Lots of expectations for a record-breaking year for Sebastien.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='516326' first='Evan' last='Kastens'] - RB/LB - Waverly - 59 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='245883' first='Gunnar' last='Lym'] - DB - Bennington - 39 votes

Hudl | Twitter

North Dakota Commit*

Preseason Offensive Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='245849' first='Sebastien' last='Boyle'] - RB - Scottsbluff - 197 votes

Sebastien goes two for two on preseason polls as he will also claim the offensive player of the year title.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='516326' first='Evan' last='Kastens'] - RB - Waverly - 63 votes

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='703717' first='Quinton' last='Archer'] - RB - Bennington - 61 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Preseason Defensive Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='706210' first='Aden' last='Smith'] - LB - Waverly - 147 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Waverly's [player_tooltip player_id='706210' first='Aden' last='Smith'] could've been on either the offensive or defensive POY polls. However, I liked Aden's defensive potential for this season, as he will be a crucial player in the middle of what should be an elite defense. Aden is a hard-hitting backer that gets to his spot quickly and can blow up ball carriers. Great overall athlete who will definitely contribute offensively and should step up big time on defense.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='245880' first='Cord' last='Symons'] - LB - Scottsbluff - 86 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='245883' first='Gunnar' last='Lym'] - DB - Bennington - 70 votes

Preseason OL of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='706209' first='Tucker' last='Wiegert'] - Grand Island Northwest - 237 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Tucker is a player that I think could have a breakout season on the offensive line this year. The GI Northwest prospect is a versatile blocker that can play guard or tackle, but projects mostly at guard. He plays a very physical style of play and loves to finish his blocks in the dirt. Tucker displays solid mobility and lateral quickness, especially on pulling blocks. He moves well into the second level to seal off LBs and is always looking downfield looking for more work. In a pretty balanced GINW offense, Tucker will have a chance to show off his pass and run-blocking abilities.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='533082' first='Jimmy' last='Miller'] - Bennington - 163 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='408436' first='Gage' last='Wolter'] - Beatrice - 90 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Make sure to follow @PrepRedzoneNE on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date with all your Nebraska prep recruiting news.
