Rolesville stood up to the challenge and edged Butler, 21 – 19 for the statement win. The standouts listed caught my attention with their performances on the field.
Rolesville
Braden Atkinson Braden Atkinson 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Rolesville | 2025 State NC – QB, displayed calmness and focus while in the pocket directing the offense throughout the game. He displayed good arm strength on the short and medium range throws. He displayed good ball velocity and laser accuracy on the corner throws to the receivers in traffic. Braden did a good job of tucking it and running to gain yards to avoid being sacked. Braden’s field performance solidified himself as one of the top 2025 QB prospects.
De’Von Thomas De’Von Thomas 5'8" | 195 lbs | RB Rolesville | 2025 State NC – RB, displayed good vision and balance while running inside to gain yards. He displayed the ability to explode into an opening and accelerated past defenders on his way to the endzone. He does not go down after initial contact is made, continues to fall forward for additional yardage.
Gavin Marks Gavin Marks 6'2" | 300 lbs | OL Rolesville | 2025 State NC – OL, Jakobe Campbell Jakobe Campbell 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Rolesville | 2024 State NC – OL, Denym Harris Denym Harris 5'11" | 275 lbs | OL Rolesville | 2024 State NC – OL, Logan Pulley Logan Pulley 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Rolesville | 2026 State NC – OL, Asa Midgette Asa Midgette 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Rolesville | 2025 State NC – OL, displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running back. They quickness and upper body strength to drive-block defenders out of the play. The offensive line displayed solid bases while protecting the quarterback on passing plays. Gavin Marks Gavin Marks 6'2" | 300 lbs | OL Rolesville | 2025 State NC is the anchor of one of the best offensive lines in the state.
Adrian Silver Jr Adrian Silver Jr 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Rolesville | 2025 NC . – WR, ran good pass routes and good separation from defenders to make catches. He displayed concentration and sure hands while making catches in traffic. He displayed speed to accelerate past defenders for big gains after the catch. Adrian had an impressive performance, winning most of the one-on-one matchups.
Kendrick Blanton Kendrick Blanton 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Rolesville | 2025 NC – WR, ran good pass routes and good separation from defenders to make catches. He displayed sure hands while making catches in traffic. He displayed speed to accelerate past defenders for yardage after the catch.
Butler
Zach Lawrence Zach Lawrence 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Butler | 2025 State NC – QB, was rattled from the pressure while in the pocket which affected his performance. He appeared to panic and delivered several throws which were intercepted throughout the game. He did display good arm strength on some of his short-range throws. Zach is expected to reset as he prepares for a better field performance in the upcoming Week 2 game.
Brayson McIver Brayson McIver 6'2" | 265 lbs | OL Butler | 2024 State NC – OL, Jy’Korri Pinckney Jy’Korri Pinckney 6'2" | 265 lbs | OL Butler | 2024 State NC – OL, Cleveland Graham – OL, Gabe Heard-Hernandez – OL, displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. The offensive line did a good job maintaining contact with defenders on the running plays.
Jayden Williams Jayden Williams 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Pamlico County | 2024 State NC – RB, followed blockers while looking for an opening to gain yards. He displayed good balance and power while running inside to gain yardage. He displayed good vision and speed to accelerate past defenders into the endzone on one play. Jayden displayed the ability to run inside and the speed to turn the corner and run outside for yardage.
DeQuadre Currence – WR, ran good pass routes and good separation from defenders to make catches. He displayed sure hands while making catches in traffic. He displayed the ability to make the initial defender miss after making the catch to gain additional yardage.
