Armuchee vs Christian Heritage: Offensive Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Week 1 of the two-week preseason Fall scrimmage schedule is in the books. Armuchee traveled to Christian Heritage in what turned out to be a defensive battle. Christian Heritage led 3-0 at the half with both teams putting a TD on the board in the 3rd Q. The JV squads finished the game in the 4th Q with Armuchee outscoring CH 6-0 in the final stanza for a 13-10 scrimmage win. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Offensive Standouts</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Jackson Coonley RB ('24 Armuchee)</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6'1 195 RB made an impression right from the 1st offensive snap for the Indians, taking the handoff up the middle for a 45-yard gain. A physical North South runner that would rather run through you than around you. Had close to 100 yards in the 3V quarters and scored on a 10-yd TD run in the 3rd Q, breaking a couple arm tackles in the process. Confident in the pocket and understands how to read the defense. Has zip on the short throws. Tough to stop when he gets behind his pads and decides to run. Scored on a 10-yd TD run early in the 3rd Q. The 6'4 180 Soph TE has a great build with plenty of room to add good weight. Aggressive blocker. Has a good 1st step on his passing routes that gets him behind the defense. Had 4 catches Friday for close to 80 yards. This kid passes the eye test when he gets off the bus.
