DEMATHA
2024 6’0 175 WR – Cody Williams – DeMatha
Star Senior Cody Williams is set to have a career year in 2023, and he’s coming off of his greatest season yet last Fall. Williams is a phenomenal pass catcher, and he specializes in the spectacular. His ability to haul-in deep balls is most definitely amongst the best in the WCAC, and I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest if he secures an All-Conference spot again this Fall. Cody Williams’ recruitment remains 100% open at the moment, and he has already received offers from: Boston College, USF, UMass, Marshall, Howard, UNCC, Temple, Monmouth, Morgan St, and Alabama A&M. My prediction is that he sees a lot more power five conference offers in his mailbox by the end of this upcoming season. Scouts nationwide must get their popcorn ready for Cody Williams and the DeMatha Stags this year. They’re sure to put on a show on Opening Day against Collegiate!
2025 6’0 175 QB – Denzel Gardner Denzel Gardner 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Dematha | 2025 State MD – DeMatha
There are few DMV area players that I have spoken more highly of over the past few years than QB Denzel Gardner Denzel Gardner 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Dematha | 2025 State MD of DeMatha. His performance on the field as an underclassman was nothing short of amazing, and that’s why I am anticipating big things from him in his first game of 2023 against Collegiate. Last Fall, Gardner led the Stags to an undefeated conference record in arguably the most competitive conference in all of high school football. DeMatha fell just short of WCAC gold in the 2022 title game, however, that’s exactly why I am expecting another run at the championship for the Stags this year. With dual-threat phenom Denzel Gardner Denzel Gardner 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Dematha | 2025 State MD under center, anything is possible for them, and I predict a huge game from him on Opening Day!

2025 6’3 190 WR – Emmanuel Dyson Emmanuel Dyson 6'2" | 195 lbs | WR DeMatha Catholic | 2025 State MD – DeMatha
4 star recruit Emmanuel “Hundo” Dyson is a premier pass catcher for DeMatha, and he’s in a great position to be one of the focal points of the Stags’ offense this season. His extensive activity during this offseason is a very positive sign for his performance, and that’s why I believe that he’s going to showcase his talents in a big way come Opening Day. Dyson possesses incredible speed, quickness, and agility, but his primary attributes are still his hands and vertical leap. He’s always on “Moss” notice, because you just never know when he’s going to Moss a DB out of his shoes for a huge play. Emmanuel Dyson Emmanuel Dyson 6'2" | 195 lbs | WR DeMatha Catholic | 2025 State MD ‘s recruitment remains completely open, therefore it would be wise of scouts everywhere to offer before it’s too late! Some of his current offers include Virginia Tech, Maryland, Temple, UNCC, and USF.
2025 5’10 170 RB – Bud Coombs – DeMatha
As a program, DeMatha has been known to produce some incredible running back talent over the years, and I believe that Bud Coombs is one of those exceptional Stag ball carriers. While his touches have been limited, it’s my prediction that this year will be a breakout one for him on the field. Coombs has shown us flashes of greatness for two straight seasons, but it’s clear that he’s going to take over a commanding role immediately for the Stags this season. The tandem of Denzel Gardner Denzel Gardner 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Dematha | 2025 State MD and Bud Coombs in a Read-Option type offense is going to work wonders for DeMatha, and I think we will see that right away on Opening Day against Collegiate. Running back scouts must know the name Bud Coombs now because he’s about to have the power five recruitment spotlight on him after this upcoming season. He already has 20 total offers.

2025 6’3 235 DL – Mark Beasley Jr – DeMatha
I have watched extensive tape on Mark Beasley, and I promise you that he’s an overall elite defensive lineman who specializes in the pass rush. He’s any ball carrier’s worst nightmare, and I believe that he will be unstoppable against Collegiate. Both his speed and quickness for his size are truly unbelievable, and my prediction is that he puts forth a dominant effort which showcases both characteristics. Beasley is a highly ranked defensive end in the 2025 class with fantastic tackling ability, and there’s no question that any defense that recruits him will get a lot better instantly. If you’re a scout and Mark Beasley Jr of DeMatha is not on your watchlist, then you are missing out on defensive line excellence!
