The Saints' rising senior class said they have always envisioned themselves as the next group destined to complete that mission and have been focused to do so since falling short.

Coach Hudson Fuller's move to Catholic (Baton Rouge) presented a curveball this winter, but a familiar face in former assistant Devin Ducote returned and has helped oversee a smooth transition for the determined group.

West Feliciana garnered a stop on Prep Redzone Louisiana's offseason tours and a series of "3-2-1" spotlights looking at three key returning standouts, two notable breakout candidates and one underclassman to know sooner than later.

The Saints' rising senior leader saw his recruitment explode during his all-district junior campaign — as an electric playmaker most prominently at quarterback, but also in his snaps at his college position in the secondary. A commitment this summer to nearby LSU will only further raise the interest and spotlight on his senior year, but the even-keel Rogers and his 2024 classmates are more focused on their internal expectations to bring another title back to St. Francisville before graduating.

A trio of defensive linemen to have earned all-district recognitions this past fall return for what should be a stout front as one of the clear strengths of the team. The undersized, but hyper-productive Jackson earned first-team all-district all-state honors as a disruptive force in the middle with his quickness and active, violent hands. Turner, the youngest of the trio, emerged alongside Jackson inside at nose guard with an all-district honorable-mention sophomore season. And Moore, a physical defensive end, has become one of the team's more heavily recruited prospects with offers from on the heels of his second-team all-district junior campaign.

The fast, physical running back joins Rogers and Jackson as returning all-district first-teamers after his strong junior performance complementing Rogers in the backfield. Johnson is a stout, powerful runner between the tackles who does a nice job running behind his pads and keeping his legs churning through contact, can get himself free for bigger gains with his decisive, sharp cuts and has also showed a willingness and effectiveness as a blocker. He, Rogers, Jackson and athlete [player_tooltip player_id='421616' first='Kam' last='Whittaker'], a second-team all-district receiver in 2022, were the four West Feliciana rising seniors ranked in the previous Prep Redzone Louisiana update, with Moore and others scheduled to join them this month.

The Saints are expecting a big-time performance this fall in all three phases from their speedy, versatile athlete. The under-the-radar Longs earned second-team all-district recognition this past fall as a running back, but is also a playmaker out of the slot, in the return game and in a safety/star role on defense.

"AD" has worked to earn a more heavily featured role and more targets in the passing game in his final high school season alongside Whittaker and Longs. The speedy pass-catcher with a listed 4.48-second 40-yard dash missed half his junior season with an injury, but was a big-play threat when available whether out of the slot or backfield.

The incoming freshman is a notable young prospect to monitor on both the football and baseball fields. Rogillio already has good size — particularly for his age — and has shown versatility to play all over the field. The Saints have him listed as a middle linebacker entering the season, but he could end up in the mix as a tight end, running back or defensive end as he continues to develop.
