Under the Radar July 2023 Edition

The state of Arkansas has plenty of talented prospects that folks should keep an eye on this upcoming season. A few players you may already know about but by the end of the season all on the list have the potential to open some eyes this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='884539' first='Kel' last='Carter']-Athlete-Cross County-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='884539' first='Kel' last='Carter'] is a wide receiver that runs crisp routes. He uses his speed and route running well to create separation from opposing defenders. Carter is effective in the slot and splits out wide. He can test opposing secondaries deep as well as work underneath pass patterns. Carter has the speed to stretch a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. The Cross County prospect has the potential to have a big season and is a prospect to watch out for.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='846851' first='Jagger' last='Gordon']-Tight End-Farmington-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Farmington tight end is a dynamic route runner that does an excellent job of creating separation from opposing defenders. From a speed perspective, he has great speed from the tight end position. He is a coverage nightmare for opposing defenses to account for on the field. Gordon has the potential to put up some big numbers this upcoming season. He is a player to watch out for this season and one that has been flying under the radar up until now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='857714' first='Cannon' last='Jacobs']-Athlete-El Dorado-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='857714' first='Cannon' last='Jacobs'] is a prospect that has tremendous versatility for El Dorado. Jacobs can line up at wide receiver or quarterback. He is a quick player that can stretch the field vertically from the wide receiver spot. Jacobs has been putting in plenty of work this offseason and is setting the stage for an impressive 2023 season. Over the next few seasons, Jacobs has the potential to do big things on Friday nights in the fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='739078' first='Peyton' last='Sellers']-Linebacker-Hamburg-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Hamburg linebacker is a fierce hitter and has no trouble separating the ball from the ball carrier. Sellers does a tremendous job of fending off blocks and getting into the opposing offensive backfield. His reaction time is strong, and he can swarm to the ball carrier with speed. The pass coverage ability is not a weak area, and he does not appear to have any trouble sticking with running backs and tight ends out of the backfield. [player_tooltip player_id='839251' first='Abari' last='Williams'] can play the linebacker or running back positions with impressive effectiveness. Looking primarily at the linebacker position, he is a prospect that can explode into the opposing offensive backfield. He does not miss tackles. Williams is a player that can drop back into coverage and pick the pass off as well. Nashville is never at a shortage for talented players and Williams has the potential to do some big things in the future on Friday nights.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
