EJ Caminong EJ Caminong 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Garfield | 2024 State WA , Garfield ’24
Caminong has been touted as the #1 QB prospect in the state of Washington and had been committed to the University of Washington for a while. However, Caminong recently announced he was decommitting from UW and reopening his recruitment, and then announced his commitment to Cal just a few weeks later, right after his official visit to Cal. He flipped from Washington to Cal over other offers from Colorado, Washington State, Oregon State, Texas A&M, and BYU. He really checks all the boxes as your future P5 starter and will “wow” you with his pocket presence and elite arm talent. A big time grab for Cal up in WA by adding a legit difference maker to their program.
Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA , Emerald Ridge ’24
Eastern Washington just landed an absolute steal by being able to secure a commitment from Shakel a few days ago, right after Shakel earned MVP honors at the EWU camp. He’s a kid with a ton of tools with raw ability and possesses a great football IQ, which I was impressed with years ago. Schakel picked Eastern Washington over offers from Colorado State, Florida Atlantic, and Nevada. Given his skillset and maturity at his age, I would not be surprised one bit to see Shakel get some early play time as soon as he steps foot on campus at EWU. His ability to adapt and find ways to make things happen with his combined athleticism and arm talent gives him the potential to be a scary player at the next level. A big time grab and a huge opportunity for Shakel moving forward.
