Here we breakdown the top players in the GSHL regardless of classification. The Criteria being used includes how valuable that individual is to his team, not just his overall recruitment. As we head into the 2023 season both Skyview and Camas have the potential of making a 4A title run with others at the 3A/2A level also looking like top 10 programs.

1.[player_tooltip player_id='693684' first='Gavin' last='Packer'] ATH 25' Skyview

As referenced numerous times already, I foresee Packer being a leading candidate for 4A state POY honors even as a junior. The two-way standout was one of the only players on the west coast to earn 1st team all-league honors on both sides of the ball, and on special teams as a sophomore.

2.[player_tooltip player_id='338787' first='Caedmon' last='Crader'] T 24' Evergreen (Fox Crader)

From a recruiting standpoint the Oregon commit has blown up with many of the nation's top schools offering. We will see how Coach Swain uses Fox next year and how dominant he is at the 3A level.

3.[player_tooltip player_id='587332' first='Noah' last='Thomas'] T 25' Skyview

I see Thomas becoming a big-time national recruit, much like Fox Crader in the coming months. As a sophomore the 6-6 tackle earned 2nd team all-league honors against legit competition. Expect this to be a big year for both Skyview and Thomas.

4.[player_tooltip player_id='915395' first='Jake' last='Kennedy'] QB 24' Skyview

Definitely an athlete who hasn't been on a lot of people's radars. The returning co-conference POY quietly had one of the best regular seasons of any underclassmen in WA last year. Kennedy was off the charts good in 22', leading the state for a while in TD/INT ratio while averaging 7 yards per carry.

5.[player_tooltip player_id='158389' first='Holden' last='Bea'] QB 24' Washougal

The Idaho commit and 2A GSHL POY looks like the real deal. Credit to the Vandals for getting on him early as he could be a state statistical leader at his classification level, while potentially helping his team make a run come playoff time.

6.[player_tooltip player_id='846364' first='Trenton' last='Swanson'] WR 24' Camas

It wouldn't surprise me to see Swanson end up the GSHL Offensive POY. He did have the luxury of having Taylor Iaone, last years player of the year, throwing him the ball. That said as his 60+ receptions, for close to 1000 yards, and 11 TDs speak to his game.

7.[player_tooltip player_id='338827' first='Arthur' last='Ban'] TE/WR 24' Evergreen

I like Ban's decisiveness and commitment to San Diego St. Look for Coach Swain to get him the ball often as you won't be able to contain him if he's not doubled. His length and ability to play multiple spots should help him be one of best in 3A.

8.[player_tooltip player_id='915394' first='Alander' last='Jacob'] RB 24' Skyview ([player_tooltip player_id='1108362' first='Trey' last='Jacob'])

Jacob had an outstanding offseason after earning 1st team all GSHL honors for the Storm last year. With Skyview being a 4A State title contender, he could thrive from an accolade standpoint if the team lives up to expectations. Expect a 1000+ yard season with double digit TDs.

9.[player_tooltip player_id='643393' first='Sam' last='Evers'] WR 24' Washougal

Evers has had a phenomenal career thus far, being named a 1st team all-league WR (2x), and going for over 1000 yards receiving and 16 TDs last season. He will be a 2A conference & state POY candidate.

10.[player_tooltip player_id='668887' first='Caden' last='Drobinski'] WR 25' Union

As a sophomore Drobinski averaged 14 yards per catch with a handful of TDs. It wasn't a typical year for Union finishing 3-6 but the Titans are a tradition rich program that should be able to bounce back.

10.[player_tooltip player_id='338790' first='Carson' last='Osmus'] T 24' Camas

The 6-6 Washington St commit had a good junior year, earning 1st team all league honors. He will lead a Papermakers line with the potential of being one of the best in the entire NW.
