Our latest rankings update has found players who have committed or have narrowed their long list of suitors down to single digits. Here several ranked players who were highly recruited and have either made their decision or trimmed their list down.
Watkins has the kind of speed that you can’t coach. He has the speed to take the top off of the defense, he has phone booth quickness and he excels at yards after the catch, making him a nightmare for his opponents in the open field. Jelani has elite suddenness, he is shifty in space with the ability to turn and accelerate quickly and he can make a house call no matter the down or distance. Watkins has sure hands, he uses his jitterbug quickness to create seperation early in his routes and this allows him to get open often. Watkins is the 6A State Champion in the 200m, running a blistering 20.54 to capture the crown this past track season. Jelani has narrowed down his college search to a Final Four of LSU, Texas, Arkansas and Texas A&M.
Funk has an extended reach, he delivers a stiff punch at engagement and when he locks in on a defender he is one of the best finishers you will see in the Class of 2024. Ashton has nimble feet, he has a solid base with clean footwork and he has a powerful leg drive that he uses to blow his opponent out of the picture when he clamps down on defenders in the run game. Ashton brings the funk at the point of attack, he moves well in space and Funk gets to the second level with ease which enables him to be a lethal weapon in the Tompkins offense. Funk will be headed to the SEC, as he committed to Texas A&M back in November. Ashton is a player who has the potential to be a household name as he develops down in Aggieland.
