He is a natural runner with forward lean, good contact balance through the hole and always falls forward to get tough yards. He shows a good initial burst through the first two levels with third level speed, vision in the open field with cutback abilities and can make defenders miss both in the hole and at the third level. He shows strong hands in traffic, can adjust to the ball in the air and track over the top while getting in defenders blind spots downfield before breaking off his route. Wayne also shows that he is a strong runner after the catch and can make defenders miss in the open field, while reading zone coverage and understanding where to settle in the soft spots. He is a very twitchy defender with fluid hips, quick in transition and breaks quickly while exploding through contact in the run game. He plays with active hands in press coverage while flashing recovery speed and length when trailing. He is a very technically sound player for his age with run support abilities and has impressed at multiple camps this off-season as well. Able to block down and in the box with a strong punch, wide base and active feet, he can also pull out in space, scrape to second level defenders taking good angles and shows consistent inside hand control to control defenders.
