Full rankings HERE.
Tony Palmer Tony Palmer 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB South Sioux City | 2025 State NE | South Sioux City | 5’11” 195 lbs
Overall: 25 | RB: 1
We have a new top back in the rankings in South Sioux City’s Tony Palmer Tony Palmer 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB South Sioux City | 2025 State NE . An unfortunate injury to the Cardinal’s RB1 led to Tony becoming the varsity starter, ending the season with 759 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns on the season. He also attended the Prospect Tour showcase in April, in which he took home the RB MVP award after posting a 4.59 40-yard time, a 7.37 shuttle drill, and a 7.19 in the L-drill. Palmer is very elusive with the ball in his hands and proved to be very tough to bring down on first contact. He does a great job finding his way to the outside, to which he can then turn on the jets and outrace the defense. Explosive change of direction with the ability to accelerate through his cuts. One thing that also stood out from Tony’s tape is his willingness to block in pass protection. Tony also looked great as a receiving back showing that he can create separation from defenders. He can do a lot of damage if you can get the ball to him in open space.
Conor Booth Conor Booth 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Bishop Neumann | 2025 State NE | Bishop Neumann | 6’2″ 215 lbs
Overall: 27 | RB: 2
Bishop Neumann’s Conor Booth Conor Booth 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Bishop Neumann | 2025 State NE made some buzz last month after turning in a great performance at the Husker’s Fullback camp, ending with an offer. When you watch his tape, it doesn’t take long to see why Nebraska was so quick to jump on board. Conor is a bigger back with great size at 6’2″ and 215 pounds and overall very athletic. At 13 yards a carry, Conor can gain yards at will, using his size very well to power through his gaps and blow up linebackers when he meets them in the hole. Solid vision- Conor sees the field very well and has shown that he has the lateral quickness to cut back outside. I looked more into Booth’s blocking clips, and he definitely looked the part of a next-level fullback. His powerful lower body and great hand positioning help him drive defenders out of running lanes with ease. A physical player that is only getting bigger and meaner!
Gavin Shanahan Gavin Shanahan 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE | Elkhorn South | 5’9″ 170 lbs
Overall: 50 | RB: 3
The majority of the varsity carries will likely go to senior Brady Bousquet Brady Bousquet 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE , but don’t think that Gavin won’t get his fair share of touches in 2023. Gavin, like Brady and Cole, is a super shifty back with excellent field vision and lateral explosiveness to cut back to open lanes. He is very patient when letting his blocks set up and anticipates where lanes are going to be very well. Shanahan is very tough to bring down 1v1 because of how twitchy he is in open-field situations. Gavin isn’t a big back, but he certainly can play like it with a good streak of physicality in his runs. He plays with a great motor and is always on go-mode, whether on offense or defense. Gavin will definitely maximize the touches he receives in year 3.
Beau Rohrich Beau Rohrich 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Wood River | 2025 State NE | Wood River | 5’11” 195 lbs
Overall: 64 | RB: 4
Beau Rohrich Beau Rohrich 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Wood River | 2025 State NE was another Prospect Tour standout who saw a nice rise in the rankings. The Wood River prospect showed off his athleticism, explosiveness, and overall versatility at the camp. He has a strong, muscular frame that he uses to plow through defenders that try to size him up 1v1. He’s very physical and will not hesitate to lower the pads and knock a defender on his back. Beau’s balance through contact was impressive to watch on tape as his strong lower body allows him to stay upright. Rohrich’s catching ability also caught our attention at the camp, as Beau showed a solid RB route tree and the ability to create separation in 1v1s. Rohrich will also be a key player on the Wood River defense and could continue to raise his profile this season.
Dane Omel Dane Omel 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE | Lincoln Christian | 5’11” 160 lbs
Overall: 81 | RB: 5
Revisiting Dane’s ranking, this is definitely one where I missed the mark. Not only did Dane put together a great sophomore tape, but he also had a tremendous 7v7 season with the Red Wolves, where he really flexed his receiving and defensive abilities. As a back, he shows great vision and cutting ability that allows him to flow through opening lanes. He’s a very quick-twitch, reactive running back that can use his shifty footwork to evade defenders in the open field. Omel is especially dangerous if he’s able to bounce the ball to the outside, as he possesses great burst and acceleration to blow past the defense. I also think you should expect to see him used more as a receiver in 2023, whether out of the backfield or lined up at the line. Dane should be able to build on his 796 rushing yards, 6 TD, 72 tackles, 8 TFL, two interceptions, and forced fumble from last season.
