Preseason Mississippi 7A Report

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mississippi has taken on a new classification of football. It keeps schools like Tupelo, who have almost 2000 students from competing with schools like Grenada, who only have around 1000 kids. This will mostly be the same 6A as last season. The competition is going to be very competitive. I am anxious to see this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Starkville Yellowjackets</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Yellowjackets were the 6A state champions last season. I think they have a great chance to be the 7A state champions this season. [player_tooltip player_id='139597' first='Braylon' last='Burnside'] and [player_tooltip player_id='273258' first='Trey' last='Petty'] are both back ready to take care of business this season. Their 2022 state championship ring ceremony was last week. It looks like they had a blast. I'm ready to see these guys hit the field again this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Clinton Arrows</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Clinton has a very good squad that is coming back next season. These guys are going to be a major force to deal with. This is not the team to sleep on this year. They have [player_tooltip player_id='669409' first='Sam' last='Semi'] at quarterback this season. He has returned from playing in Texas. They have TJ Spann holding down the trenches. They also have a very talented secondary that goes behind their great front seven.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Tupelo Goldenwave</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tupelo is a team that comes to the table loaded every season. They will do the same thing this season. [player_tooltip player_id='344100' first='Jeremiah' last='Harrell'] is back ready to lead their offense. They have [player_tooltip player_id='616692' first='Tristan' last='Jernigan'] back ready to hold things down on defense. He recently picked up an offer to Alabama. They also have [player_tooltip player_id='139850' first='Shamaar' last='Darden'] ready to hold down their secondary.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Oak Grove Warriors</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We all know how Oak Grove will be coming next season. This team has been very advanced over the last few years. This community loves their football players. They always have guys that are highly recruited. This year they have [player_tooltip player_id='344082' first='Anthony' last='Maddox'] back holding down things at quarterback. He is committed to Texas A&amp;M. His brother, [player_tooltip player_id='350938' first='Andrew' last='Maddox'] will be holding down things for them on defense as well. They also have [player_tooltip player_id='617237' first='Caleb' last='Moore'] down their holding down things for them. We can't forget about [player_tooltip player_id='616688' first='PJ' last='Woodland']. [player_tooltip player_id='344148' first='Damari' last='Jefferson'] is a receiver that Maddox will be throwing to. This team is going to be very solid.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also think that Brandon and Ocean Springs are going to make a lot of noise this season.
